Combat can be as easy or hard as you decide. Can beat the entire game holding r2, ha.

End game really farming cores to take attack cores to plus 10. Best build I’ve seen was gs with all atk plus 10. Just deleted end game boss in like one combo

I've been on book 3 for like 1.5 months. Almost done - feels like a bit of a slog compared to the first two, and I'm not sure it's just the confusing nature of the level (at least, to me). Perhaps it's just the setting itself I personally find sort of uninteresting.

Eh I was wrong I hit 157 hours, whoops. Also I have like half a quest log in each zone still to do but my wife and kids were finally getting pissed. Done 45/72(?) bosses and still have 10 legendary animals to kill. Got 3 weapons maxed out though so everything dies fast. Final boss was pretty rad

    Crimson Desert

Chapter 12, riding a dragon, about to finish finally. What a ride. Still a ton to do post game as well - this was an all timer game for me. No need to preface it "but if this was better"... no. Straight up I love this game, warts and all. A proper GAME made by GAMERS for people who don't need...

Mortismal is working on the platinum, and said it's easily the longest, most grueling platinum he's tried in years. One objective - "capture one of every insect in game". Lol. I'm almost done now, got my flame kuku spear leveled up and just wrecking the game now. New mounts are disappointing but...

    Crimson Desert

There are like 6 gimmick fights like that, one that sticks out in particular, that are incredibly annoying. Keglord I think was the marionette fuckers name. There are a few of those crabs too. Got kuku flame spear, and upgraded a bit, definitely strong when you have the flame charges up...

    Crimson Desert

Killed Archon (he was a bitch) and finished the witches questline this morning. So much to do. Think I'm nearing the end though so might just wrap up main quest and work on kuku spear

Also, I had a thought yesterday - In spite of some pop in (my biggest graphical complaint) and some muddy textures - this is truly open world. Wanna go into a house? No cutscene walk right in. Wanna go do a tower puzzle? Run up to the tower and do it. Even if you hated the gameplay (lol what a...

    Crimson Desert

This game is 10x better than bdo imo. Feels similar but once you start unlocking sockets and stuff you feel like a god mowing down dozens of mobs in seconds. Boss fights actually become interesting later too, not to a From level, but interesting mechanics. Most of the early stuff feels very...

    Crimson Desert

Yeah, it's very obvious to me this game was made by a team that really liked what they were making. Whether that is your cup of tea or not, this was a labor of love. I find the discussions around this game interesting, in that it's the first major title in a while where there is no gamergate bs...

    Crimson Desert

I don't know anybody who hates it, in fact my personal experience is the exact opposite. I'm sat at my desk wishing I was home so I could unlock fire imbuement... Been a long time, maybe CP2077 or ER that I have felt that way about a game. Honestly, I'm not sure how they made this game -...

    Crimson Desert

They’ve already fixed a few of my big gripes. This is a very cool world with deep interesting combat builds, great crafting, and unending exploration. I’m 50 hours in and starting chapter 7, spent this evening getting legendary horse and Frostmourne! Horse is blood red, looks awesome. Need to...

The breadth of content and volume is frankly unbelievable. In just the first town you unlock you open up quest after quest after quest but they only open if you do some unnamed, unmarkered quest or event and it feels neverending. I thought I was headed to the next region after 26 hours… nope, go...

Fucking lol, thought I'd hit my first game breaking bug. Couldn't run, couldn't double jump, was barely walking.... realized I had a fucking kiwi bird I grabbed in my hand.....

Working through the 4/5th abyss sky puzzles, enjoying that more than I thought I would based on initial preview videos. Some interesting mechanics, though falling mid puzzle is annoying. I'd recommend doing 3 and 4 soon as it gets you really close to the eastern side of the next map for easy...

Fully get all the complaints especially around controls. Currently my biggest gripe is tap to sprint on horse, just let me double tap on… with a map so big it’s killing my fingers. One thing they nailed was exploration and meaningful loot though. Found gloves that auto lock pick, and a pirate...

The game takes you back there eventually, and yeah that's super useful for some of those retarded ass bosses

Lol I tackled one of the bounty targets near a group of guards, knocked em all over and they proceeded to pwn me. Whoops.

    Crimson Desert

About 6.5 hours in now... so many of the reviews I watched (even the very positive ones) said the first few hours sucked and it picks up a ton. Wtf? I'm having a great time already and am already mostly used to controls. Still a bit of jank, but there is an obscene amount of shit to do in just...

    Crimson Desert

This is like an old school single player game with modern (very modern) graphics, and outdated controls. Also have urge to stay up all night to keep discovering stuff, but am old.

Fucking lol, I just beat the shit out of a nun, hogtied her, threw her on my horse, accidentally jumped off a cliff and killed her ass. FFS, that's a half bounty

    Crimson Desert

Looks unreal, what a great engine they've created. A bit of pop in, and wish you could rebind controller, but looks great. I've just been running around killing shit looking to lvl up stamina.

    What did you just read?

Blood Meridian is a book I have a hard time recommending, but one I feel made me a better, more observant reader. One of the most bizarre, great, dogshit books I’ve ever read. Years after reading it, I finally “got” the ending with the kid and the girl. First read, I’d stupidly assumed the kid...

    Crimson Desert

I've been pretty luke-warm about this game, but the exploration and sheer amount of stuff in game is highly compelling to me. Just seems like it needed more time (ha) to take it from "very good, lots of great concepts, some pretty glaring issues" to "one of the most compelling single player open...
