Saw it a couple days ago, but thought it was only ok. Biggest issue for me was there was basically no buildup to the small boats- it was "scene on the docks and then off this one boat goes". There was rarely any sense of the scope of it. Overall I think I much prefer the 1958 version...

You need to reduce the defenses to zero and then attack with a melee unit. (The melee unit can be the one that reduces the defense to zero as part of its attack).

Like that video said there's no unavoidable penalty to spamming cities but apparently settlers and builders get more expensive the more you build, AND each copy of a luxury only supplies 4 cities. Want a 5th city? Find a second salt (or whatever).

Havent seen drawbacks yet, so...

Running mostly fine so far. Was a glitch where the promotion button on units wasnt showing up but a reload fixed that. Also, if you do the tutorial dont build something before the tutorial asks you to. If it decides to ask you for it midway through producing it you wont like what (doesnt)...

Yes you can, just set it in your options. Its not on by default is all. Also I'm probably retarded but how the hell do you promote a unit once its earned one?
