    Stargate Reboot Trilogy

McKay made Atlantis. He was a recurring character in SG-1 and I was stoked that he was part of the new Atlantis crew. Universe, however, had no redeeming qualities.

Shit, this sounds awesome. They should make a damn movie based on this.

    Penny Dreadful

Saw Rose's naked behind. Not sure that's anything to get excited about, though. Enjoying the series so far. Bride of Frankenstein woo!

I fucking loved Greatest American Hero. The pilot, by the way, is still very watchable. I never understood why no one has tried to resurrect that show. With today's special effects, it would be quite easy to do a re-imagining of the series justice.

    Star Trek: Discovery

"I, Borg" should be in the somewhere. Maybe under Picard. One thing you will notice -- those are some short-ass skirts. Really, TOS has some absolutely beautiful women with some of the wildest outfits. (has not aged well..)

I was born in 72 but I have no real memory of the 70s. Although I do vaguely recall Shazam and some weird dune buggy with eyes. Oh, and Freddy the Frog.

    Star Trek - The Beyonder

What annoyed me about Voyager, especially in seasons 1 and 2, was how they kept running into the same aliens (I think they were called the Kazons). I assume Voyager was traveling in a straight line back home. They were technologically superior to these Kazon jackasses yet they somehow managed...

Here's another obscure 80s TV show. I don't think it ran for more than one season. And has this one been mentioned? Hello, Courteney Cox.

IT/Software career thread: Invert binary trees for dollars.

How much importance do you guys place on certifications? I'm speaking of the Microsoft certs specifically, like the MCSD. Our department manager recently mandated that we all must obtain this certification by 2015. I don't' really have a problem with that. However, one of the guys on our...

I actually never saw Fargo the movie. So, sat down and watched that a couple weeks ago then started on the series. Love it. Absolutely great show and deserves more attention here than it's getting.

It's been a few years since I rewatched B5 but I distinctly remember seasons 3+ looking pretty decent. The visuals seen in this battle montage still look pretty decent to me: Babylon 5 EPIC Battle Montage - YouTube

So the finale was last night. Did it end with any real resolution? I admit I stopped watching when I heard it was canceled so I'm a few episodes behind. But will watch the remainder if there's any point to it.

Production costs kept it from getting renewed 4 years ago. But a 12 episode run for future seasons could've made some financial sense -- but only if it pulled in great ratings (like 2.0+). I love Jack Bauer, so hope we DO see more future bad-assness.

Represent Your Distro (or any OS)

OS/X will not feel any quicker than Windows. Windows is fucking fast and no Linux or OS/X machine will ever feel as "snappy" as Windows on equivalent hardware. I'd say fuck Eclipse/Java and go with Visual Studio and C# if you're learning programming.

How have you changed in the last decade?

Jobs have changed for the better, so that's good. But personal life hasn't progressed at all in the past decade or, hell, even the decade before that. I now find myself in the early 40s and it's become abundantly clear that things just don't happen on their own. One has to make them happen.

    Chronic Pain

For the past 2 years or so I've had what I thought was your typical lower back pain. It's not so much a pain as in I move a certain way and it hurts, it's just a consistent discomfort and tightness that's always there. It's not debilitating, though. I exercise routinely and it doesn't prevent...
