This chest explosion mod is dodging me hard, 1500 alts in and havent seen it yet. Feels almost like a requirement if you wanna delve as flicker strike. I managed to get a pair of +1 strike +1frenzy charge gloves through 2 annuls though so that was pretty sweet.

You're correct basically, and it doesnt matter which stone you socket. You do however have to run the correct tier of map so if you socket a stone and then continute running your old white maps you wont get the influence, it has to be the tier of maps corresponding to what your atlas tells you...

Make sure to socket the watchstones in your atlas so you actually have a T6+ map you can get.

It feels like they bugged map drops from cartogrophy chests somehow. I've opened cartogrophy chests in both the incursion map room and in delve that have dropped 0 maps or related orbs (horizon, chisels etc).

Running white maps after influence spawn like pyros said is actually very sweet. only tiny issue is you use up your ivory watchstone charges on nothing basically if you have them socketed I would say its the best way to go for now untill they make it so you can use sextants on a influenced region
