All you guys on your 2nd and 3rd characters, and I just killed Kitava. I'm enjoying the league mechanic and my totem build, but I don't think I will be pushing for any challenges this league. The MTX are horrendous!

I'm pretty sure you are just killing them as they spawn out the portals. Do you play with map overlay on? You can see the routes and red enemy icons marching along it. Or on the minimap like this:
