just for the record, macros dont play a game for you the same way an addon doesnt. When a macro starts playing for you, it becomes a bot.

so got in a few minutes ago and im already laughing my ass off. You have no control over character progression, stats get automatically allocated as you level up. Its a new low for questing in that you dont even have to find npcs or mobs anymore, you just click on their name in the quest text...

people like to be lazy, doesnt mean you should encourage it. hell, most people dont even know what the change is. they just see everyone elses reaction and decide the sky is falling.

you still see damage you take, just not what caused it.

so if its available anyway, the addons arnt really needed. they are just a crutch. they didnt remove the combat log, they removed part of it and people act like the sky is falling.

so you dont need the addon then. problem solved.

a lot of the addons wernt needed and its all a bit of an overreaction. while being able to see buffs etc are pretty much required, being able to see where damage is coming from in PvP should not be in a game. you shouldnt be able to tell what your fighting just by hightlighting it, etc. oh...

this is the current state of mmo design. Have something limited and get your players to create as much as possible for free. See Wildstar inviting modders to their offices so they start making addons, EQ Landmark, etc.

could add an anti-rpg type option. Have a reward for hunting down pirates who have stolen goods. The hunters get the reward, the original owner of the goods get a portion of the original value. mind you i dont know whats actually in game right now, im just throwing shit out there.
