We blacklisted all connections to our pipeline machines partly for that purpose. Internal mirrors that are needed to build are explicitly whitelisted and that's it. No funny updates bricking your build, no hidden dependencies inserting themselves into your toolchain.

Yes. Automating exposure is usually the way to go. There are usually better conditional buttons to push. Assuming you're playing shockwave totems, exposure might not even be worth the effort given there is no easy singular source of fire and cold exposure.
