How does it work when you buy from nvidia? Do you pay directly when you order or do they charge once they ship it? I'm going to order a few places when they release but also try a FE order, not interested in shelling out money in advance though and having to wait.

Yea from what I've gathered there will be no preorders at all. Stores around here have a timer up for 3pm (gmt+1) on the 17th when you can buy them.

Was browsing Audible today for the next book to listen to and saw Arcanum Unbounded available. that worth checking out? Short stories from different series if I understood correct. Might buy the Mistborn books with my credits and listen to them again since it was a feew years ago I did that.

Just wish the stores get their prices set and maybe queue system but thats probably too much to hope for. Seems the Asus cards will go for $1000 in Sweden unless they lower them a bit but it follows the trend with taxes and shit over here. $800 in the US will be around 950-1000 here.

Looking a computer parts around here most are "max 1 or2 per buy". But theres ways around that I guess if you really want to stock up and resell. Not sure if that happens as much here in backwater europe.

Im fine with a 3080, $1500 is a bit too spicey for me. Need to be able to afford a snow blower as well this winter. Edit: A 3090 might be able to melt the snow around the house though I guess.

Got ya. From the little I checked it seems the ryzen 3700x doesn't draw much power though, 90w under stress test. I guess some intels etc might draw alot more, especially if overclocked. Edit: might have seen wrong about the ryzen power, need to check some more.

I see some of you mention 850W for the theoretical 3080. Why would you need that much Wattage? If it is 70 to 100W more than a say 2080 super why the need to get a big ass PSU?

Like others said. Default the Bios settings and just enable XMP. Check YouTube or a guide if you don't know how, it should be easy to find in Bios though.

Who was the 1600 RTX series aimed for? Checked comparison and its similar or worse than my 1070.

When do the xx70 models usally drop on the market after the initial relase? I'm thinking the 3080+ will be too much cash. 700 bucks is my limit, no way I'm shelling out more cash for a few more %'s. The used market seems quite pricey as well if I look for high end cards right now.

Maybe it is a GPU issue as well. The ones I saw had that issue had 1080ti's. But I have no clue. 144hz works fine for me with the 1070. Hopefully the new GPU will work fine as well when I upgrade later this year

The only black screen issues I got was when I played Horizon zero dawn. 3 or 4 times in the period of 8hours the screen went black for a second then back to normal. I can see some flickering on loading screens though.

Crashed to desktop'ed my way through the story and did the last mission today. Enjoyed it a lot besides the crashing and lowish performance. Started the Frozen Wild but think I might wait for a fix until I continue. So damn annoying being set back when the game fucks up and throw you to the desktop.

Yea I set overdrive to medium I think. As recommended by some youtuber. Other than that I just touched brightness to max.

I got maybe one such flicker when i ran HZD benchmark, but not while playing.

Yea I only used Ultimate to see the diference from my 1080p benchmark. Will check that guide, turning down to Original quality and its 50-60is fps. 40-50fps when playing with the custom setting. Eagerly waiting for the new GPUs to come out though.
