I know it's in the manga but the Spirit Tortoise definitely has the feeling of filler. You establish the waves as a world ending threat in Season 1, and then in Season 2 you immediately go off to deal with a different threat that's only tangentially related to the waves? Really weird pacing...

It's funny how the Ursun campaign initially seemed so much better than the Vortex race, but now seems so much worse.

Maybe they'll do this thing where you have to grab a certain number of collectibles in a zone to unlock flying, but the last one isn't made available until the main storyline of the zone is done so you don't disrupt the flow of the story.
