    Health Problems

I had some crazy insomnia a couple of years ago. Not the standard toss and turn kind either, but I would fall asleep for 1-2 hours and then wake up and have this really weird experience where I would doze and jolt awake for the next 4-5 hours. I'd literally get 5-10 minute little naps the rest...

Html AP is my jam. I've built quite a few apps to scrape and archive data from some seriously shit (designed) websites using this lib. You can use this lib quite effectively with powershell as well.

    Working From Home

Government would have to change some policies and rewrite our contract before I could work from home. For my specific role, I can definitely be more productive if I have the option to go onsite, only because of the disconnected nature of our networks. For certain tasks like writing code /...

Marriage and the Power of Divorce

I remember when I got my first tattoo. My family was all cool with it as long as it was somewhere I could cover up - I of course chose bicep cause that was the cool guy spot. Fast forward 20 years and I have mostly full sleeves and no one gives much of a shit about them. People I've just met...

    World of Warcraft: Classic

We've got about 5-6 serious horde guilds and probably 4x as many alliance. We went to Felwood launch day and traded attempts with an alliance guild on Lethon until we killed on our third attempt. Then Emiriss spawned, and alliance pulled first and wiped. Then we pulled, got him to 15% and wiped...

The problem isn't the COBOL. I bet anyone of us could write decent COBOL within 2 days with just the internet for reference. The problem are the systems themselves. Those old S390s are worlds apart from the x86/windows/linux that we know and love.

Generally no because you want them to handoff to the strongest AP. But... I do with mine as I've found the best performance in having separate 5ghz / 2.4ghz networks. I have an upstairs and downstairs 5ghz network and then one whole house 2.4ghz network. I put all of my roaming devices on the...

I'm a fan of asus routers. I have 2x ac68u's that still work great. I played around with meshing them, but the performance was subpar to using one as a wired ap. If you can do a cat 6 run, that will give you the best performance. Also, if running cable is possible, I'd buy a small AP that...

AOL used to be heavily client based and I recall having a version that would give you access to all of the "premium" stuff. I think it just had modules that it would load / unload (or flags it would set) based on your account type, but I guess you could force them to stay loaded somehow. I...

If we didn't have VPN I'd definitely be laid off. Luckily it works well and the gov is cool enough to allow us to work remotely - which is pretty unprecedented for this type of work.

    World of Warcraft: Classic

I'm on a low pop RP-PVE (yeah...) server and it's a surprisingly stable community. Horde is outnumbered 4 to 1 though, so the only thing we don't get are world dragon kills. Though this week we ran a successful batphone pug raid as and got Horde first Azuregos.

If there's one thing I learned when it comes to WoW, RL friends will always bail on you. Hence why I am both horde and on an RP server. It's actually a pretty tight knit community though horde side and very close to my actual classic experience so I can't complain.

I still prefer wired access points with seperate SSIDs. I have a 5ghz and a 2.4 ghz access point upstairs and a 5ghz AP downstairs. All my "portable" devices go on the 2.4 and all stationary devices (tv's, xbox's, etc.) connect to their closest 5ghz AP. Even if I were to mesh, I'd still wire...

Did you read the post directly above mine? Dude said they were going to sell it right away. I just mentioned that I did not use a broker nor was my loan "sold" (insofar as I understand it). The main point I was making was to shop loans at credit unions as well.

I've never gone through a broker. I've financed all 3 of the homes I've owned through a credit union and they've never sold the loan. I can't say whether the interest rates were any better/worse, but they always seemed in line with the market at the time.
