    How much income is enough?

100k is a pretty good sweet spot. The problem I've had in looking for jobs that pay more is that they generally require that I either A. move to a bigger metro area in which the cost of living is higher or B. I travel extensively. It does seem like more and more companies are coming up with...

Unless your thermostat is super old, in my (albeit limited) experience it usually turns out to be a sequencer or a limit switch that is stuck when the heat won't turn off. You can youtube a replacement video for any of those parts for your model. It's relatively easy and usually only requires a...

    How much income is enough?

I think keeping up with your neighbors is getting pretty antiquated these days. Hell, most of the middle class neighborhoods I've lived in are filled with renters who don't give a shit. I think maybe the only thing I've ever semi tried to "compete" on was a super nice lawn and that held my...

Nah, it's actually taken from the title of an old play. The plot is about a husband who fucks with his wife's mentals. It's called gas light though because she watches a gas light flicker. Gaslight (1944 film) - Wikipedia

They have translators - they were actually pretty popular back in the 80's and stuff. I know for sure there are FORTRAN to Ada and Pascal translators. I think there are some C/C++ to python type of translators as well. Most of them just rewrite source find and replace style so it would probably...

I'd probably say that Perl is your forehead, PHP is a crude hammer and python is a nail gun if I were making web dev analogies.

You can accomplish the same shit in PHP as you can in any other interpreted language. I don't know why it would be a bad choice as it was probably the most popular web dev language until recently. Even then, I'm sure there's tons of PHP in the wild still.

Python. I'd honestly learn straight python, but if you use Django or Flask you can get a web app going in literally like 5 minutes. CppCMS — High Performance C++ Web Framework There is a C++ web framework oddly enough lol.

I learned HTML in like 95 before CSS and got stuck in the table mindset. If I'm being real though, I still like tables better since they scale very predictably. JavaScript is funky as fuck. I read an article once about people going to great lengths to obscure it and someone wrote a script that...

I'd actually prefer to be a full time developer but because my career has mostly been in the "admin" arena, I'd probably have to take a paycut to be a junior dev for a little while and I can't afford that. On the other hand, I get to do plenty of scripting and some small compiled stuff when it...

If they limited classic and Kunark to 1 month each (with RF/LJ exp rates) I'd play it again. Mainly just because I could take a break and grind out 60 in Velious. I'd say the 50-60 grind in Kunark is one of the most soul crushing grinds in the entire game of EQ (even more so with classic-esque...

If you can't afford to have family stay with you then they should understand and attempt to help. I could easily cover the extra expenses so I would let any of my family stay with me (well except the one cousin that's always in and out of jail) rent free. However, if they are slobs or start...

Most of the sellers on RG want you to be verified which means paying a membership fee (it's cheap, like 10 bucks a year) and sending in docs. 10 bucks is whatever, but I don't really want them having my photo id on file. That's my situation as well. I'd love to do mythic but I couldn't do it in good conscience with my current play time. However, if we had the numbers and wanted to roll through M EN for the last few weeks until NH comes out, I'd be down.

Odyn is an exercise in frustration without balanced melee and ranged dps. We lose so much dps on Odyn during phase 2 that it draws the phase out ridiculously long which drains healer mana and basically causes even a single dps death to make the encounter a lost cause. We have melee folks who can...

I've been looking at H Odyn logs... It really looks like lack of range is a pretty big obstacle for this fight. Most people kill him around 8:30-9 minutes - that's not even with particuarly good DPS. I wish I had the time to go full stop hunter right now, but it's not feasible.
