This is the first season I've ever bothered pushing past the season journey and like 1100 paragon or so. Everything is just better and less annoying with the altar. Augmenting a full set shouldn't really take any real "extra" effort at all. Maybe 30 minutes to run a few puzzle rings with crown...

You're way better off just reforging puzzle rings to ancient since primal does nothing to the drops over ancient. Please don't waste primal reforges on puzzle rings lol. Don't forget you can reforge gems too

This season eliminates most of the tedium of the game which makes it far more playable. When you have such stale itemization and boring gameplay loops being overpowered is necessary to make the game feel good to play. Which is what the altar does.

I think you missed the "open beta" bit. Games have given pre-purchases access to closed betas for years, this is a bold new strategy that gives players access to a limited time open beta event, and thats it.

PoE isn't even remotely balanced around the fact that trading exists. It's balanced around a tug of war between out of touch developers with a Messiah complex and streamers who play the game professionally.
