Either option was terrible. They likely are more aggressive trying to get the 1st down if they had kicked it deep. When you're already in FG range easy to just run it 3 times.

Well they certainly run it 3 times down in field goal range. Bortles has made some big plays on 3rd down last couple drives. I think it's picking between 2 bad options with how shitty their defense has been.

This is sorta true, but the 49ers line (while not great on the inside, tackles are pretty good though) consistently was ranking among the middle 10 (11th-20th) in pass protection while Seattle's line has been bottom 5 for a couple years now.

Wilson can't afford to play from the pocket because Seattle's O line has been terrible in pass protection. They need to find some good picks in the middle rounds that stay cheap for a couple of years to protect him.
