NFL 2017-18: Watch athletes destroy their brains

This. Buddy of mine is convinced if Eagles get home field, Saints won't be able to win outdoors in January up there...but defense and that running game travels.

Agree with Skrala on the experience factor. I see Brees and Payton being able to grind out a win. But that's as it stands right now. Could all change over last 6 games. NFC so stacked.

Report: NFL said intentional grounding call against Redskins was incorrect in final minute of loss to Saints Yup. When a loss seems like it can't get any more Redskins...it gets more Redskins.

NFL 2017-18: Watch athletes destroy their brains

Heard rumor league contacted the Redskins to say they got the intentional grounding penalty wrong near the end of regulation. Kind of sucks when at that point the ball was on the 34 in a tie game with 28 seconds left. Run it once, kick a 50 yarder for the win and whatevs. Would be a dick...

NFL 2017-18: Watch athletes destroy their brains

Yeah I think Eagles/Saints clearly top two, I'd almost give edge to Saints overall in NFC based on experience...but NFC might have other teams floating in there like Minnesota, Rams, Panthers, Seahawks, even the Lions potentially. NFC playoffs should be ridiculously good.

Newton's accuracy takes a hit because he doesn't throw a lot of dump offs. You throw it further downfield on average, your completion % is going to suffer. Agreed it still could be better, though. Not sure I'd say that's Kaep's only good year in the pocket, but even with Kelly he had terrible...

Some of us tried to tell Ambi and others that line was no longer #1. Even worse with an injury or two.

Like I said, it's far better now than it used to be. But stigmas are still present, and do have an effect at times. Again, I don't think they had anything to do with Taylor benching. Just saying it still exists in certain places around the league.

NFL 2017-18: Watch athletes destroy their brains

I wasn't trying to compare Wilson and Vick as passers. The two are not the same. Although Vick's passing depth probably hurt his completion % quite a bit (something that Cam suffers from as well, because both tend to throw it further downfield). But he was a better passer than given credit...

NFL 2017-18: Watch athletes destroy their brains

Vick always had the stigma regarding his passing (you always hear it, the pocket passer stigma). Now with some of the running QB's in college, it was a legit issue going to the pros (RG3 rings a bell). Once his legs were gone, he couldn't do much. But that stigma has still been applied to...

After Cooks went off for Pats, I was only up ~17 points in my match up with opponent having Elliott and Witten tonight, and Julio Jones tomorrow night at Seattle. Suddenly with the Elliott thing I'm back on life support.

Their white QB has/is getting $44 million in guaranteed money this year and last. Not bad. I agree it doesn't have the luxury of it in general, but lets not go full crazy mode at the slightest mention of race playing a factor when we're talking about the QB position. The stigma still exists...

NFL 2017-18: Watch athletes destroy their brains

This statement, while statistically true, is still pretty misleading when talking about the QB position specifically, and how black QB's have been treated over the years. That said, don't think Tyrod's benching had anything to do with racism. I think it comes into play in general with people...

Honestly a lot of it isn't even Big Ben...but having basically the best (or near the best) at RB and WR in Bell and Brown. It's just insane what either guy can do on any given night.

NFL 2017-18: Watch athletes destroy their brains

I mean, it's pretty obvious they should have. I've already gone into detail about the hilarious mistakes Cleveland man in the 2014 draft (moving down from 4 to 9, picking up Buffalo's 2015 1st in the process, still missing on guys like OBJ, then moving up later in the 1st to take Manziel...

He wouldn't get benched simply b/c they're 1st in their division and winning games, while Buffalo has gotten beat pretty badly in their past 2 games. McCoy has also had a pretty down year for him overall (aside from a couple big games), whereas Titans basically have 2 starting RB's in Murray...

NFL 2017-18: Watch athletes destroy their brains

I will say that Saints defense is a lot better than people realize. If I had to pick right now, I'd say Saints/Pats SB. Tyrod seems to be loved by Advanced Stats people, but most normal stats/fans don't see a lot in him. I will say he's been pretty poor last couple weeks. He's obviously not...

God damn. Must have been one of those weeks. Another match up in our league was decided by 1. Guy was down ~18 with Cam and Carolina's Defense vs. guy who had MacCaffery. Eked out the 1 point comeback win. Another match up guy was down about 8.7 with Gano last night. Even XP's add up with...

Well it's funny to look at the teams that were the culprits for why they didn't meet. Like Baltimore beating the Pats early, Pittsburgh in one of their SB years did it to the Colts. Chargers did it twice to Manning.

Maybe they sat him after you wrote this. Just crazy, Drake didn't do shit all night but break a 60+ yard TD that was the real culprit. Funchess' 2nd TD was the actual final nail, but Drake randomly breaking free for that TD was the crazy back-breaker.

No it actually shocked me too. It's crazy cause they met a shitload of times in the regular season (not surprising since they both won their division so much). The scary thing is I think they only met 3 times in the playoffs while Peyton was with Indy, which seems nuts to me.
