The battles are still fighting game-esque, but there is also RPG elements such as the aforementioned quests, gathering, cooking, skill progression, etc. I'm enjoying it for what it is. I've never really played any fighting games but I like the combat.

I really enjoyed it from beginning to end, mostly because I loved the characters in this one so much. It kind of reminded me of The Big Lebowski, where not a whole lot actually happened but I still loved it due to the acting, protagonists, and dialogue. Plot is so pre-modern, man.

Yeah, for me, that Astartes series is the best 40k interpretation so far. The animation, choreography, and layout of the scenes are all perfect. The marines move so quickly but also fluidly...the Ultramines movie was the opposite of that. So clunky!

For a tv show the action choreography really is top notch, even beating out some movies. Hopefully the cancellation won't deter other studios from trying shit like this.

The book had that angle, but at least the Bancrofts were complex, fleshed our characters instead of stereotypical one dimensional villains. Definitely recommend the book.

These books are definitely hit or miss. I enjoyed the hell out of Fulgrim though, I thought MacNeill did a great and entertaining job illustrating the III legion's descent into depravity. In fact I think he made their flip to Chaos more believable than any of the other chapters.

Yeah I thought toward the end of the movie they made Bowers an IT slave like in the book.

Just read Lucius: The Faultless Blade by Ian St Martin and enjoyed it overall. Has a lot of the heavy hitters from the 3rd legion if you're into Slaaneshy chaos types like me.

I would at least try one book from each author then decide whose styles you like. I'm a bit of a book snob but still enjoy most books by Abnett, MacNeill, and Dembski-Bowden.

At this point the author determines whether I read the book or not. Definitely read everything by Dan Abnett, Aaron Dembski Bowden, Graham McNeill, and most of James Swallows stuff. The rest is pretty bad imo.

Is there a way to get mob health displayed numerically? I had a bitch of a time pulling off the achievements with just the health bar.

I believe if you have 2 weapons equipped with elemental modifiers it will default to the R. Hand, but if you have only one weapon with a modifier then it doesn't matter which hand it's in. Really annoyed I haven't pulled a Refia yet and there's basically no other viable healer in the damn game!
