I don't have a problem with Mark Meer but Jennifer Hale had over a decades experience of voice work by the time Mass Effect came along whereas Meer had nothing but his previous work for Bioware.

On the bright side Haemimont is a well established studio with consistently solid games if you like the genre (Tropico 1-5, Surviving Mars) so the finished product should end up just fine.
I mean you could keep almost all of the central plot elements from the 6th-8th seasons and still tell a good story with them if you presented them differently.
Carr feels rather similar to Stafford except he never had Megatron to throw to, not a superstar but above average and perennially stuck on a bad team. He's been good for 4k yards almost every year he's played which is pretty consistent production.
2 is kinda overrated imo. Like yeah it improved over the super clunky combat of the first one, but like 90% of the game was recruitment and loyalty missions, the central story was very minimal.
