Noticed this in her timeline:
The sheer self-righteousness it takes to deliver a lecture like this would make even the Pope blush, but it's just business as usual for a soulless social media parasite.
We almost got Privateer Online, and I guarantee that would've been at least 334 million times better than whatever SC ultimately becomes.
Anyone who remembers the Strike Commander fiasco nearly 30 years ago shouldn't be surprised at the state of Star Citizen; it was the point when Roberts'...
Bartle claims that the guy who coined the term "massively multiplayer" actually did so to describe the type of game you mentioned in your first example, a larger session-based type instead of a "world" game.

Well, there's the plain fact that the former has a playerbase only 1/8th that of the latter, regardless how it's partitioned.
I don't consider population density to be the defining criterion.
There will never even be a successor to WoW, let alone something that kills it. The era of the MMORPG is over, it's been over, it's not coming back.
The "next big thing" will be some non-game virtual world a la Second Life (only shittier, if such a thing is possible) integrated with social media.
Two decades ago they were lampooning UO because you could bake bread in it. Now we have unironic showcase videos for fishing.
The future isn't now, it was then.
P.S. this game is a turd
Don't quit your day job as a cardiac surgeon just yet, @Sadre Spinegnawer.
If there's incentive to multibox in your game then you've already lost by design (literally). Attempting to limit/restrict boxing after the fact will only earn you the contempt and resentment of your players, those who...
Then light my pants on fire because they just can't. Even annoying tricks like gating content via keys/attunes or narrowly applicable non-solutions like procedural generation only delay the inevitable, that player consumption will always outpace dev production. God might have created the world...
Holy shit, @Lumi is right about something for once.
Maybe the world is ending after all...

This entire genre is creaking under the weight of 25-year old game systems. All paths in an ARPG inevitably lead to the same destination, flying there on autopilot while everything on the screen is autogibbed and the fraction of loot that isn't garbage is autocollected.
Wake me when we land.
If you were actually familiar with the platform then you'd realize that you and your normal friends with the 10 viewers between you aren't representative of it and you're certainly not the reason it still exists. Instead, it's the degenerates being discussed in this thread who're really driving...
I don't know anything about any of these retarded streamers, but I'd just like to take a moment to say that "Stivitybobo" has got to be, hands down and without a doubt, the dumbest fucking name I've ever heard in my entire life.
And the uncanny valley of gameplay grows ever deeper. Can't wait to explore this exciting, hyper-immersive future as the same decades-old camera on a stick driven by a D-pad and some buttons.
Makes sense that a fur suit instructional vid would be popular among the Emirati when you consider their other degenerate pastimes like shitting on the chests of foreign hookers.
Kinda hard to feel sympathy for someone repeatedly choosing to place themselves into an environment which they already knew from past experience worsens their underlying problems.
