I think they are having to play a juggling game between having queues or having so many people online at once that it lags for everyone. Short queue during prime time seems to be the acceptable compromise.

Mayong was alright for a while before it fizzled out, Miragul was a flop from the start, Vaniki is still going, just very seasonal, aka the month or 2 before a new TLP launches lol. Discord and Quarm were event servers not intended to last.

Server discords stopped being a thing a while ago, they didn't see a lot of use and questionable people like Mabbu often had control of them. Most EQ players are oldies that don't bother with discord unless it's raid time.
