The 8 thing is weird. Like, I FINALLY understood why it was 5 plates. Each plate is 50 health, so at full armor you're at 250 health (100hp +150 armor). So with 5 plates in reserve you basically had double your entire health (even though regen mechanics make it silly and actually a lot more)...

I watched the UK Office before the US version came out and then watched the US version as it aired on TV. UK version gets kudos for creating the idea, but the US version is much more entertaining in its mid seasons. For the first season the UK/US versions are basically parallels anyways.
