I plan on giving it a try if I can get my graphics situation figured out, but will end up on the new Turtle vs the old server.

For me, I am having trouble with the massive downgrade in graphics from normal classic to Turtle. Now, I have seen videos of Turtle that look amazing and realize there is something probably wrong on my end. Everything seems to black , dark, and washed out...almost like textures arent loading...

Downloaded and tried Turtle. Game looks like dogshit for some reason. Project Epoch looked great ( in the few hours in game I got ), no clue wtf I did wrong here.

So I am seeing that the new Turtle wow server will be European. Ive never done private servers before, will that have any real effect on performance?

So if this doesn't manage to make it up this week, it will probably a lot more work to get it ready than the think. What is the best alternative for a classic + server that is relatively fresh?

I think people just want a somewhat new amount to play that is fun. Every mmo that I can think of that has released in the past 5 to 10 years has been terrible. Whether it be in features, performance, or tuning...they all suck. Wows foundation was outstanding and it just got out of control...

It was nothing but 1,000+ retards spamming. Nothing was lost.

Something to do with them capping the level at 15 to keep the player base close together while people couldn't log in. Apparently completing quests after you hit 15 and would no longer give you experience was paying out a lot of gold.

The key to getting in is waiting for them to bring down the server and then trying your luck and resetting you spot in the que. Folks have said they have sat in the que 3 to 4 hrs, and then there is an unannounced server restart that kicks everyone and restarts the process.

I woke up this morning around 430am and saw that the que was 7500 deep. Its gonna be awhile before this is playable I think.

Most of that is due to pvp not having a rank decay. All of your hardcore guilds are pushing a majority of rank 14 warriors that make all of classic encounters trivial. Back in the day, if you were into pvp, you knew the rank 14s by name. Now they are shit out by the 100s. There's a handful...

I'm somewhat excited about new mobs, new quests, new zones, few new dungeons, and some profession upgrades. None of those are in any Blizzard supported servers now except SoD. Nothing on the mmo horizon that looks appealing anymore anyways.

I think mage was wildly popular due to their AoE farming capabilities. If thats been removed, I can see their popularity plummeting. I know a ton of people who had pocket mages, but not that many mains.

How is the bottting scene on private servers? I enjoyed some time on anniversary classic, but it seemed to be filled with a ton of bots and boosters 24/7 that disrupted the economy, as well as made the 8-60 leveling dungeons fairly empty, as everyone was buying gold to boost to 60.

AV was just an ends to a mean. If they removed PVP gear from a vendor that was tied to honor, battlegrounds for the most part would be dead empty.

Where do you download this at at? I think I will give it a go. Right now I'm on classic anniversary, but even with supposedly 10k+ on the server, I feel like it's mostly people being boosted to 60 and then raid logging.

Would seem like its to counteract the AoE boosting / farming that is so prevalent now.

Not trying to ask anyone to convince me of playing or anything, but how are these servers? Are they fun to play and have a population to support them? Im back on an mmo kick and its still sad to say that there is still only 1-4 mmos worth playing and are all almost 15 - 20 years old it seems...

AQ will have more people logging off.... Naxx and TBC will see an influx in population though.

Sad thing is that after 20+ years, there are really no other alternatives worth playing. You have FF14, GW2, ESO....that's our options. Certainly wish there were more.

Because I was assuming you were asking because you already had a lvl 71 and complaining about not getting a key to get to a faction earlier on a 2nd char. Campaign skip is not meant for a first time play through. It's there as a mechanic to speed up your alt chars.

Then something changed, because you used to be able to join a faction on an alt before you hit lvl 6 to 10 by talking to an npc in one of the first areas. No key was needed.

Favor.is based on experience gain. You gain far more experience faster when you are lvl.50+, than you will going from Act 1 to 7. Things may have changed, but you used to be able to choose CoF or MG on your alt within 30 mins of the campaign starting. I'm not sure what more people want these...

I can't think of a modern game that had an economy that wasn't overrun with bots,.exploits, and currency manipulators, right off the bat. Same thing happened here I believe with the last 2 trade leagues being busted pretty much right out of the gate.
