Scope vs no scope is all personal preference. I only scope when using AM Rifle or need to target something further away with a main weapon. and yes, it’s better to let patrols walk in by or go around them than engage most of the time. You get nothing for killing patrols.

Defend mission is the niche I’m referring to. I would never want to be tethered on a big objective map, which are my favorite missions by far. Light armor, eagle airstrike, 500kg, shield, and AM rifle. Strike bases quickly and prevents drop ships from ever being call. Avoid patrols.

Anything that roots you to a spot will be niche at best.

I still run railgun most of the time. It’s the most versatile support weapon that lets you use a backpack. Going for full charge unsafe just adds to the fun. I love the flamethrower but it’s just too dangerous against spitters and terminators in general.

One dev said they intend for the game to be very hard on the high end and the railgun being overpowered was making it too easy. I’m starting to see pugs adjust. Lots of Anti-tank, recoiless, flamethrowers, and autocanon showing up. Oddly, I’m still mainly using the railgun because nobody else...

Hopefully the guns being balanced lets them now balance the underlying game. Still having a blast on 7s, but it’s definitely more challenging.

Biggest problem today is all the low levels joining groups for level 7+. Level 12s have no business doing 7s.

Was just playing with it, and you are right. It doesn’t break leg armor. Chargers are even more of a menace than before. Not sure what to run against bugs anymore. Tried grenade launcher but it’s useless against the big guys.
