    Fondest Memory of MMOs

Played a necromancer on Veeshan. Fondest memory was running Plane of Fear with Team JPN and the "-iae" folks at around 2am to get my epic weapon quest piece from Cazic Thule. Didn't know a single word the raid party was saying but was able to transcend the language and emoticon barrier by...

    Battlefield 4 (Frostbite 3)

Is anybody else experiencing a FPS hit since the release of Dragon's Teeth? I can't say that I'm not surprised it was released with bugs but this one seems to be pretty bad. My game was running perfect before it was released.

It's a little different. Higher alcohol content. Harder to come by because it's seasonal.

Launch was pretty bad. The game got better as it matured. The endgame raiding was pretty fun with a good group of people.

I agree completely. Enough with the hand holding to separate tiers of loot. It all the data ends up on item websites anyway.

For all the issues the game had generally, I thought the directional attacks and blocking mechanisms in Age of Conan were excellent. It felt like it was a small evolutionary step toward what you describe.

As far as combat goes, I can settle with a limited hot-key bar. However, I'm hoping SOE doesn't implement a macro hot-key system like Rift. It was one of the foremost reasons I felt a disconnect from that game. Several months in, after the community determined the best 1, 2, or 3 hot-key...

    Battlefield 4 (Frostbite 3)

Although BF3 had a rough launch, I think the game has been polished and is fun to play. At level 100 unfortunately I know every map like the back of my hand. I would gladly welcome third party support but, being EA is behind this franchise, I just don't see if happening. There is too much...

Particularly with faction specific quests. I remember playing the meta strategy in deciding where to level up because I didn't want to mess with certain factions so I could pursue their high end faction rewards down the road. Convenience in easy hunting grounds would mean repaying with a mind...

I'm on the fence with exp penalties for death. As much as it blew, it was a sure fire deterrent against most people for being reckless.

That's what I was trying to get at. Any design to encourage interaction with the community is a benefit. Everquest 2 had a similar system with the gryphon rides. I didn't play UO, but it sounds slightly similar.

What I enjoyed about player provided transportation was seeing industriousness of people who played certain classes. I learned very quickly the advantages of becoming friends with shamans, druids, and bards for spirit of the wolf and selo's accelerando. The same went for cross-zone traveling...
