Nice! I finally got my Gjallahorn this week as well (VoG chest). I believe Hawkmoon and Necrochasm are my last missing exotics. Even though I still need the Fang of Ir Yut from Crota HM, it is still difficult to motivate myself enough to roll the dice with PUGs.

I bought about 100 heavy synths even though I haven't had to use very many since I scored a shoot-to-loot scout rifle from the gunsmith.

FYI -- I have the VOG maze/chest checkpoint on one of my characters, so I can set people up with that tonight if requested. Also, I'm down for giving Crota another go this evening. So frustrating that we essentially beat him half a dozen times the other night...

I've had a busy weekend... haven't been on and still haven't managed to get a single Crota kill this week. Anyone else in the same boat and planning on giving it a go this evening? Not sure if my time would be better spent with PUGs on hardmode or just banging out three normal-mode kills so...

I was playing with a PUG using this strategy last night. We were able to reliably get Crota to 30% with two swords -- sometimes even to 50% with just one sword. Sometimes we'd smoke the ogres quickly only to have something go wrong during Crota -- we died 3x with only one sword hit remaining...

If you have to use LFG, you'll likely have better luck on Tuesday immediately after the weekly resets (when the hardcores are playing). LFG can be hit-or-miss for sure, partly due to level 31 vendor-gear creating a scenario in which you can get matched up with under-equipped and inexperienced...

Most likely the chests will only give loot once total, not once per raid difficulty mode. There was only one chest in VoG that would give loot twice -- chests that only gave materials were once total.

Good point -- I was just assuming that is how it was going to work. That would make Crota's loot table pretty big, though... normal-mode table +- new ship +- new shader + primaries I suppose there is no harm in waiting until Wednesday and running HM on one 32 -- would give me an opportunity...

I think my plan is to clear up to Crota normal-mode on Tuesday on at least a couple of characters, so I can get missing armor pieces to hopefully get them to 32. Definitely going to save Crota for hard-mode for better chance at primaries, though.

I'm definitely ready to see what hard-mode is going to bring, but if I had one more week I'd probably be in better shape to finish it. I could get my titan up to 32 right now by upgrading one of raid helmet/gloves that I currently hope to replace as soon as I get copies with better perk rolls...

I'm okay with the above changes. Timing sucks, though -- will probably miss most people doing the raid and have to find randoms.

If we have enough, I'm down for another run at Crota this evening. Based on the links/videos above, I think there are a few minor tweaks we could make to the strategy we've been using.

Pretty pleased Xur has Ice Breaker and SUROS Regime for upgrade. Going to be out of town and unable to play over the weekend, so I will hate not being able to get the Ice Breaker re-upgraded before the next raid. I should be able to get to 31 tonight after farming some glimmer, though...

Also, apparently there's a second chest right after the gatekeeper phase, in the corridor with the shriekers.

Curious... on the companion app my fully upgraded Vex Mythoclast still displays ATK 300. There definitely seems to have been an associated update to the companion app, because I can see that my un-upgraded exotics do indeed require an Exotic Shard for the final level now.

Looks like there are a lot of positive changes. Really like the improvements to collecting upgrade materials, but wonder exactly how many materials will get rewarded. Curious to get home and see what happened to my fully upgraded exotics.
