I can't stand Nick's "Chiefs are the best at everything ever for all time" persona, but the show itself is fun and sometimes they make some good points. Mainly love how the old Packers receiver has been the biggest Danny Dimes supporter ever and is taking weekly victory laps (For now).

I saw some youtube video before the season started that discussed bell cow running backs subsequent season after going over 300 touches where they dominated and it was really crazy to see on paper.
Its a generally understood idea that they will definitely regress, but over the last 25 years outside of zeke and one or two other rbs that I'm blanking on now have ended up with substantial injuries or really came back down to earth in their follow-up.
Bijan and I think Kyren fell into this same touch category from last season and have so far lived up to their previous performance. Bijan has the luxury of youth while being in the 2nd year of his career, but Kyren is currently inside of a run where hes had substantial consistent usage/results since 23'.

Problem with Saquon is if you factor in the 4 playoff games, too, that's 482 touchs (carries and receptions) combined. Absolutely massive workload. Did produce the most combined rushing yards ever in a season (reg season + playoffs combined), but drop off had to be expected. I still thought he'd have a "decent" year, though.
One of the other outliers was probably Henry. Had 409 total touches in 2019 regular season and playoffs and followed it up with a 2,027 yard rushing year.

Its depressing watching my two lifelong teams squander generational talent.
Ive been a Yankees fan since I was 4. I inherited from my Dad who grew up idolizing Mickey and Joe, who inherited it from his Dad who used to listen to Murderers row on the radio.
Now im watching arguably the greatest hitter not named Bonds since Ted Williams, and his career is being squandered by inept coaching and leadership. Aaron Judge is a fucking unicorn and will never win a ring. Its sad. But thats for another thread.
Brandon Beane is an average AT BEST Gm. His drafts have been horrible. His Free Agent signings have been EVEN WORSE. Sean McDermott is an above Average Coach. But not good enough to win it all. Josh Allen has saved their careers. Without him they would both have been fired several years ago. They get some credit for drafting and developing Josh but hes a Unicorn too. 99 times out of 100 that pick fails. They lucked into a generational talent. And they have done nothing but fail him since 2020.
After 2019 Josh was Improving greatly but was still not a lock. He had ok numbers and won 10 games, but was still erratic and played too much hero ball, and in the Texans playoff game lost his damn mind like a child. So they decided to go out and Get Diggs, Draft RB help, Draft Gabe Davis. 2020 he became a fuckign star and was a MVP candidate. He had Diggs, John Brown Coming off 1000 yards, Cole Beasley becoming a top slot WR, Gabe Davis as a great down field threat. and a defense with 3 all pro calibur DBs in Tre White, Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde. They made it to the AFC championship. They lost to a superior Chiefs team but were ready to become the top team. They went out and swapped Brown for Emaniel Sanders and added defensive improvements in Free Agency and the draft. They then went to the playoffs again and lost to the chiefs in the greatest post season game I have ever seen. And I was as the 35-3 come back game against the Oilers. That lot was solely on the defense and Mcdermott. 13 fucking seconds. Since that day the yhave failed and gotten worse in every way.
Sanders Retired and they cut Beasley due to Covid bullshit. Two great WRs gone. They still havent replaced them. They overpaid for Von Miller ruining their cap situation for years. Tre White got hurt twice ending his career essentially, and they never replaced him. Power and Hyde aged out and retired and they never replaced them. They keep drafting busts on defense, and handing out mid level contracts to average players. Diggs forced his way out. They adopted "Everyone eats" with a bunch of shit players assuming their star QB can make chicken salad out of chicken shit. The whole idea is "With Josh the offense is set we can focus on defense". The problem is their defensive Head Coach cant coach a modern defense worth shit, and their GM invests everything into defense with zero payoff. Their defense has regressed 3 straight years and this might be an all time shit defense.
the bills spend 42 percent of the cap on mid level contracts. The chiefs 20 percent. Ravens 20 percent. Eagles 26 percent.
Instead of paying for high talent and supplmenting with low cost players and draft picks, they have built a thick roster of average guys who dont perform.
Dawson Knox, Josh Palmer, Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, Elijah moore, Dalton Kincaid, Keon Coleman. Add them up and their salaries arent that far off Jamar Chase and Tee Higgins.
NAME ONE GM that wouldnt make that trade right now, 7 average players for 2 stars. I would take those 2 and a bunch of street guys over what we have.
Our Safeties are the worst I have ever seen. Damar Hamlin doesnt deserve to be on an NFL roster and he started 16 games last year and was a starter for this year until they realized he is ass and put him on IR. Greg Rousseau, Aj Epenesa, Joey Bosa, Ed Oliver, Daquan Jones, all make quality NFL money and are non existent.
We traded down for Keon Coleman answ pass on Xavier Worthy because Beane wanted an extra 3rd since he spent one on a trade for Rasul Douglas (Who is ass yet was our CB 1) and they used the pick for Dewayne Carter, a DT who is already done. And they then spent 2 more picks this year on DT that made him useless. Wasted trade and pick. And Coleman is just the bust everyone saw him as, who cant separate. meanwhile Worthy is not amazing, and is gadgety, but hes on a team that uses his strengths and finds ways to make him a weapon. Meanwhile we sign Mack Hollins and Tyrell Shavers because they BLOCK GOOD, then give them MASSIVE amounts of snaps.
THIS TEAM VALUES BLOCKING OVER PLAYMAKING AT WR.
They are over the cap for next year. Matt Milano is cooked and his extension is killing this team. Their MLB weighs less than our SS. Hes on year 1 of an extension. He cant tackle or cover. We have a great OL but no one who can get open so we see josh get tons of time to throw to no one until he has to scramble.
ALL of this would be just part and parcel of NFL teams, if our FUCKING MORON GM didnt go on Local radio and yell at the hosts for being babies when they complained how he didnt draft a WR. Because they and everyone else saw what the GM couldnt. Bills will likely win 11 games this year, maybe beat a wildcard team then lose AGAIN in the Divisional round to the Chiefs or Ravens or Bengals. Hell maybe the fucking colts. And they have no draft capital and no cap room to retool and will need to burn next year as a complete rebuild year.
the window is closed. Allen will go down his last years like Brees, with shit teams. At least brees won a Super Bowl . Allen will never even make one. Their chance was 2020-22 and their coaches fucked that away while praising the 9/11 hijackers.
A Super Bowl Contender team (so they say) who needed to add depth and help spent their draft on
a Sex Offender CB who wont play at all this year
a "Pass rushing" DT who cant get penetration and is now hurt
a DE with Alopecia who didnt dress the first 5 games because this team refuses to let young players play.
a DT who is basically Chris Jones Jr in Deone Walker who is the only good draft pick in 3 years, the only one who MIGHT end up a top player.
a nickel CB when we have Taron Johnson who is a top 3 nickel back so this guy doesnt dress or get to play

They did nothing to re-enforce or improve an Offense who has lost the last 2 years to the chiefs when they get the ball back needing to score to win and turned the ball over on downs. The defense has been shit in the playoffs but when the time comes to step up, outside of 13 seconds Josh hasnt had the help to go out and score to win. And he did it that year and the coaches had miscommunication with the kicker, and called prevent defense by accident and gave the game away. Legit. They said all of this.
Im fucking so dejected.
