lions seem cooked beyond just this year
It was a fun, but heartbreaking couple of years. I look forward to going back to a basement dwelling team, having way more Sunday at 1pm games, and wasting another hall of fame running back's best years.

The Chargers learned it from the Lions.

There's a lot of chatter that _this_ rebuild may finally be the one where the Raiders let Crosby be traded for a haul, no sense letting him get a serious injury which hurts his trade value in a game the Raiders shouldn't want to win.

For those not paying attention: There's only two 2-win teams right now, the Giants and Raiders, playing against each other this weekend. Given that there are four other teams with 3 wins, the team that "wins" that NY/LV game can really torpedo their draft ranking. Again, a draft lottery for the, say, top eight picks would help to minimize these sorts of toxic incentives. Have that lottery be part of the Super Bowl press week.

Fuck draft lotteries. Does anyone think that would be on the up-and-up? That would just be another lever to make sure the league's money making teams are gifted players. Look at the NBA.
