Well the Jets and the Cards both need a QB. Doubt he would have made it out of the 1st round. Still, retarded as fuck pick. Dude is going to be sitting on the bench for at least this year but probably 2 or more. at 13? So much still available that would instantly make the team better this year.

Are we (as in football fans) really going to throw another tizzy about drafting an heir apparent QB with how the Falcons experience* turned out?
Especially when Stafford is older than Cousins?
*Penix isn't particularly good and so far not worth the draft spot, but that's different from saying the Falcons were wrong for getting _any_ QB in 2024.

Redskins threw away the 7th pick. I swear it felt like Riverboat Ron made that call. A guy whose at best is a 2nd round pick at number 7? WTF, this is a worse reach than Forbes in 2023. They love his "x, y, z," all of which have nothing to with on the field ability. Give me a freaking break. Any of the O-line men taken after him would have been better to protect your fucking Quarterback.

Just a reminder, the Rams barely lost to the Seahakws in the NFC Championship, and probably would have crushed the Patriots in the SB.
Would McVay and Stafford like another weapon (though how many rookies are that signficant) so they can win another SB and Stafford can retire off to the sunset? Sure.
Given Stafford's age, and no succession plan at all at QB, is the day 1 need for a backup QB and potentially mid-season starter more important long term than having a slightly better chance against the Seahawks the next time around if they meet in the playoffs this year? The Rams front office thinks so, and I do too.

You can't just assume it was Miami that was going to take Downs. There may have been one or more other teams wanting to trade up to Miami to take Downs and the Cowboys either had to make the trade to get him or someone else would.

Either way. We got the secondary solved. We got pass rush solved. We got pickens back on board. We got kicker locked up for the rest of the decade. We will be unstoppable next year. Is it too early to give them an A++ draft grade, or do we need to let them officially spend the rest of the picks on linebackers first?
