Lots of orgs look at the bail amount as a yardstick for the validity (not guilt, but validity) of the case.

Clearly the Lions saw that amount (and the findings brought in for the bail hearing) and decided they may as well separate now.

That's stupid because he's rich. The way bail is supposed to work is that they make it expensive enough for you to afford it, but cripple your ability to hire a good defense lawyer. Judges look at your financials when they determine the amount.

They would have let a regular person out for 100x less.
