In LSU's Defense, a big college like that is liable to have over 100 players. They can't just start retiring fucking numbers.

From what I understand it was Brian Kelly who said they would retire it, not the school that said they would. So it could have just been Brian Kelly making promises he couldn't keep.

Also, I could be totally wrong on that. I've just been enjoying the meme's regardless

From my understanding the number is not retired and they have very few numbers that are. Even Joe Burrows is not retired although they aren't letting anyone rock that one. Joe took them all the way. Anyhow they recruit some guy under Kelly promising him number 5. Kelly punks him and doesnt give it to him. Kiffin comes in and says he was promised the number and gives it to him. Daniels and his momma butthurt.
