Wemby should bring the Spurs a few titles.

TBH the Knicks seem like huge underdogs in these finals. The Spurs were tired from the Thunder series and the Knicks were super well rested, so of course the Knicks excelled at first in the finals.

Lot of money to be made right now by betting on the Spurs. Not saying they're a sure thing or anything but their record going in is much better than NY's, and now that cardio is catching up to both... yeah, I'd go with the Spurs even down 2-1.

It's a good time to be a Spurs fan. Wemby is a monster.

As a San Antonio guy, I guess I picked the right playoffs to start watching again.

Seems like the Western Finals were always Spurs/Thunder in the 2010s and that the Western teams always had a much better season record than the Eastern teams. Good to see not much has changed.

There is no more clear example of the NBA tipping things in favor of the Spurs to keep the series going then that blown goaltending call. 3 NBA officials watched the most textbook example of goaltending I've seen in the 35 years watching the sport and not a single one of them had the balls to whistle it. This is the most rigged sport in the US and it isn't close.

Spurs are the dumbest, highly talented team in nba history. Just pure retardation and wemby has a lot of work to do to become face of the league. Never seen anything like that, letting this bum ass knicks team win a ship

One of the craziest moments in sports I've ever witnessed, let alone basketball. The only game of basketball I can remember seeing anything anywhere close to this was that Celtics/Lakers '08 series.

Fox is a terrorist.

There is no way he is back with San Antonio next year. What a generational retard. He hit a big shot in the last game but was straight ASS the entire game before that, and just flat out sucks for most of the time he is on the floor. Between him and Wembanyama's boneheaded mistakes, the Spurs could have actually swept this series. They were winning comfortably in game 1 before just collapsing late with multiple mistakes and unforced errors. They played first two games at home and lost them both, with game 2 being the most egregious example, as Wemby smoked 2 dunks, and the Spurs missed 9 free throws as a team. Not to mention the insane retarded play at the end by Wemby.

They won game 3 and should have won game 4 if Fox just holds the fucking ball up 1 with 10 seconds left with possession. Un real collapse by the Spurs if they go on to lose this series. It could go one of two ways; this either destroys Wembanyama's confidence and psyche and he doesnt get back to the finals for many years and his ascendance is stunted by such a utterly devastating Finals fumble. Or, he uses this as motivation to lock in even further, realizes he needs to gain strength and puts on Giannis type size over the next year or so and dominates the league on his way to the first of many championships after that devastating first finals experience.

If it was rigged why make that call early in the game and nothing later to help seal the deal?

Watching in real time, it looked like it was going to be very short and Robinson went up for it like he was expecting a lob. Both those things could have swayed to officials to not think goaltending in that situation.

This is the wrong take. Spurs are the youngest team in history to make it to this point - they're not supposed to be here to begin with. For reference, KD/Westbrick/Harden were 23/23/22 when they made the finals against the Heat and had already suffered multiple playoff eliminations in years prior. Wemby/Castle/Harper are 22/21/20 in their first ever playoff run. Fox doesn't count as he's like their 4th best player and not part of their core in the near future. We've seen in this series why the Kings traded him.

I see it like... Spurs are making the mistakes and showing the youth we'd have expected them to show earlier in this playoff run. The fact that these guys were basically a couple plays from being up 3-1 in the finals at this point in their careers is the crazy part.

Bad bad loss, series probably over, but this Spurs team is ahead of schedule and probably wins a title soon barring bad injury luck.
