My wife says she is a NFL widow, I go in my game room during the season and don't come out. I also cannot wait. Carolina may even have a decent team this year. Well one can hope.

The 49ers are flying to Australia on Friday, a full week before the game. The Rams are flying down the day before. It will be interesting to see if one strategy or the other turns out better. Rams are 3.5 point favorites.

Terrible decision. He has gotten worse every single year and he has had one of the best defenses in the NFL covering his ass. If he has another year like last year, or an injury... the Texans are going to be drafting a QB in 2027, which looks to be an incredibly strong QB class anyways.

It all comes down to guaranteed money imo.

however stroud for the past 2 years hasn't been an elite qb, he has been..average to below average. if this year is like last year, he won't get 60. hell he won't get 50. he was worse than Mac Jones,..who got 10 last year (backup) last year he was 17th in qb rating. so unless he improves, play wise, 40 imo at best a year.

Patriots are going to have the same issue with Maye Next Year. potentially in the other direction. if THIS year he is as good as or better than Last Year....it'll be a bitch for his extension. he will be looking for 60+ a year with ~200+(probably 250) in guaranteed money.

The Browns are in the last year of the Watson deal. We can just pencil them in now for offering Stroud an even more ridiculous contract. They love used Texan's QBs.

There is ALWAYS a franchise willing to overpay for mid-level QB play. Because even average QBs are damn hard to come by.

Yeah, it's not even a sign of bad management. Your only option is to either pay an elite qb, hit the jackpot in the draft, or overpay a mid-level QB. The first two are better, but they are by definition not available to every team.

This is almost certainly the last year of Watson _playing_ with the Browns, but this isn't the last year _his salary_ hits the Browns' cap.

Edit: He currently has a clause in his contract that if he's on the team on the third day of the 2027 season, he has a guaranteed $200 Million salary in 2029. Obviously, there is no world in which that happens, and he _has to_ sign a new contract or get released at the end of the season.

Assuming he's released, the Browns will take an $86 Million dead money cap hit in 2027 to get him off the books. That's nearly as much as the Dolphins are paying off this year for Tua and Tyreek combined.

Even if the Browns split that up between 2027 and 2028, that's still something like a $50M / $40M split over the next two years, which may limit their options to sign questionable QB deals.

As far as Stroud himself, you have to keep in mind, just how much extra money will the Texans' _defense_ earn him this year, by keeping him with a lead / manageable game situations... assuming he doesn't take a major injury.

lol, no way that shirt is real. If he actually wore that then his next shirt would be tay-tay pegging him.

we used to be civil. We used to put mentally ill people in an asylum, drug them up and forget they existed, and just waited until one day they died. Now we let them run wild.
