I'd never heard of it. Gemini says it's similar to DVT, but less dangerous and less chance of the clot breaking loose and killing you. But if you are getting a superficial clot, you're also likely to get deep ones. So this could be serious depending on why he got it.

Al Michaels is probably my all time favorite play by play guy, but he is 81 now and his best years are long behind us. Mike Tirico is probably the best PBP guy right now, but he is paired with Chris Collinsworth, who is nearly unlistenable.

Aikman is phenomenal and probably the best Color Announcer, and Tom Brady has really come on strong this season.

I love for Chris Collinsworth to get relegated and for a Tirico/Aikman pairing.

Buck is the fucking worst. His baseball coverage was fucking unbearable - glad MLB is gay now so I don't have to watch/listen to him anymore.

I wouldn't be shocked if they pair Aikman up with Nantz on CBS. Swap one drunk for another.

Amen. I only have to listen to him when he's calling cowboy games and in those games I'm paying more attention to how bad he is than the game itself. I can't even offer an opinion on his partner, I don't remember anything he's ever said.

I used to like chris when he was on the pre-game shows and inside the NFL. But he's hot fucking garbage as an announcer.


Another thing, why do you guys keep mentioning drunks as if it makes you unfit for the booth? Some of the best in the business did it drunk. As long as you're a happy drunk and can keep your language clean enough for broadcast television, I see no problem.

I just don't get the angst about announcing. I can't say I've ever loved or hated a play by play guy or a color commentator. They're just there and maybe they will give you some useful information but I can't believe how many people on the Internet can work themselves into a rage about them.

Collinsworth usually talks about anything but football and when he does, he's wrong.
