These were the kind of night games I liked when I lived on the east coast, blown out so I could get sleep. Now NFL is over by 9PM.

This game has to set some kind of record for flags. Ugly mean play on both sides.

who’d a thunk it, jerrys latest flesh suit puppet coach has the team playing powder puff football before November. Hope he dies before they win another playoff game.

green bay has really turned it around last few weeks
Eh, while the free agent o-linemen they were able to grab are holding up better than their backup linemen they were down to, their run game is still non-existent, even against this Dallas defense.

They might still look competent against the Lions, but are going to get hammered in succession by the Panthers / Pats / Vikings / Rams after that.

Hurts officially done for the year (and the Eagles* as well, to be honest):

As far as Ballard, good, it is long past time people recognize that there is only so much the coach can do with a given roster.
That said, while the Daniel Jones contract looks like a disaster, I'm not even sure he was wrong to think there was an opportunity in the AFC last year, given who ended up in the AFC Championship.

*Edit: One bit from Barnwell's column - Team Span Stats Finder - Pro Football | Stathead - no team in the Super Bowl era has started 2-4 or worse and made the Super Bowl. They can make the playoffs and be a tough out there (e.g. 2025 Texans), but six weeks is enough of a sample size to judge if they can go all the way.
(So don't put any more money down on the Eagles or Rams, is what I'm saying.)

I haven't been able to see any of their games. Has his playcalling been that bad or is he just the convenient scapegoat?

He's part of the problem, but the picture is a lot worse:

- Herbert doesn't have the brain power to make quick reads and read the field. People turn a blind eye to the deficiencies of big QB's with a strong arm.

- Their receivers aren't great. Neither is the rest of the roster.

- Jim Harbaugh is on year 3 and he usually wears out his welcome by now.

- Herbert is worn out from all the sacks he's taken at this point. Small QB's like Tua get knocked out; big QB's can take the hits and stay in the game but get worn down. One day you'll watch a game and realize they are a shadow of themselves.

McDaniels' system is not much different than McVay's or Shanahan's. Stafford can do it. Purdy can do it. Tua did it with help (Hill and Waddle) before his brains got scrambled.

They can let McDaniels take the blame and let him go. Might work, might not. A simpler playbook could pay off if Herbert can process it faster, but defenses can also figure it out too.
