yeah about that no sleep thing. Was the Eagles doctor that fat fuck who always hangs out at their sideline?

“Patients with blood clots have to sleep," said Dr. Brian Haut, a blood clot expert who is an associate professor of surgery and anesthesiology/critical care medicine and emergency medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. "There’s no reason they can’t sleep. There’s no reason they can’t walk. … The sleep one is what got me. I was like, ‘Where did that come from?’"

I'm not a doctor, but this seems like a lot of speculation over a comment with the depth of a tweet.

I could see the actual scenario being they had him get up and move around every hour or what have you, which might well be worse to his mental faculties than not sleeping at all.

Horrible penalty calls at the end of the game. It very much looked like Vegas was in on it.

That said, the 49ers offense was abysmal without Mike Evans and this team will just be a repeat of the last 4 seasons without a WR1. You see what Purdy can do with a true WR1 and what this offense looks like without him. They need to sell the farm and go get a big WR1. 49ers have plenty of cap room and Jerry Jones is a dumbfuck. Give him 2 1sts for Ceedee Lamb. Barring that, I'd like to see us try to get Olave from the Saints.
No thx we will take 2 first for Pickens and you can pay him.

I'm not sure they need an elite WR unless they lose Evans for real. With any luck he could be getting back to normal after the bye. What they need now is depth. Deebo, Robinson, and Christian Kirk could hopefully be back soon but they need bodies in there. Stribling will probably be back at the end of the season. I hate that he got hurt. The lack of offense in the 2nd half wasn't so much that Evans was out, but that Evans was all they had left and without him the defense can just cover Kittle and McCaffrey and a couple "who?" dudes.

On the upside, the other portion of the team that has a lot of injuries, the D-line, is doing remarkably well. I was thinking they needed to bring in a free agent pass rusher but the rookies are playing way better than they could have hoped for and when Bosa gets back the pass rush is going to suddenly be scary. It's also great to see Malik Mustapha playing so well. Safety has been a weak spot on the 49ers D since Hufunga left and to have Mustapha back there laying the wood is huge. The linebackers have been elite all season aside from Greenlaw doing stupid shit and the corners are solid so the defense is looking head and shoulders better than last year.

Remember that Brandon Aiyuk guy?

Speaking of retards. I'd be fine with trading Pickens at this point. Just give us better value than what we had to pay for him and I'd stamp the deal. He/we have shown he can be a dominate #1 option, but the dude is still a moron and I don't think there is any fixing that.

Barely. It says a lot that they are in such bad shape for WR and no one is even considering letting him play. It's been a while since somebody fucked themselves up the ass quite as effectively as he did.

Evans has Achilles tendinitis. Even if it's a "minor" case, it's typically a 2-6 week recovery. Plus, with his age, he'll likely be in and out of the lineup most of the season. Same with guys like Deebo (who is also at that stage of his career where he's always dealing with calf, hamstring, etc. injuries). Then you have guys like DRob and Kirk who have been pretty consistently "hurt" most of their careers. And it's obvious they just don't have the depth at WR to lose their WR1 for even 2 quarters. You need a true WR1 in this offense - otherwise it looks completely mediocre. The revolving band of WR2 and WR3s that had 1-2 "good" years aren't going to cut it.

In past seasons you could let the defense carry you. But with all the injuries on DLine and Stout, you can't rely on that to win you games. Our CB depth is just as atrocious as the WR depth - Jones and Davis are trash.

I think you sell the farm for a top WR or watch as your season slowly evaporates toward/in the playoffs due to injuries. The seasons we stayed healthy we went to the Super Bowl. The seasons we didn't, we fizzle out in the playoffs. Gotta plan for it, or trust in John "We like our team" Lynch, I guess...

Just read that the eagles were going to dock him his paycheck if he didn't fly to London and play in the game because he was cleared. I think hes done in Philly if he ever gets to play again.

There has been so much tension there the last few years. This does feel like the beginning of the end.

Hey, our doc said you were ok so you have to do it. Who knew it could possibly turn into something life threatening.

Err, yes, that's how it works - if players are cleared and refuse to play, they don't get paid.

Whether Hurts should have been cleared is an entirely different question than _if_ teams can dock medically cleared players. Note that Hurts could / should have filed a grievance with the union on the matter (and did not).

Also note that the original news story came from Hurts' agent, who didn't like the comments Hurts was getting in the 'press' (whether click/rage bait ESPN panelists should be considered press is another different question), and I'm not sure its been confirmed if she was even in the same hemisphere at the time. This looks like an agent getting pissy that others were badmouthing her client, only for the situation to then blow up when, if her 'blurb' is accurate, the situation could legally be medical malpractice.

Eh, refs seemed against Commanders a lot of the night. Niners defense just allowed to go helmet to helmet how many times with zero flags? Also the McLaurin injury, they're like 20+ yards downfield and DB just shoves him to the ground, zero illegal contact call.

But I agree the game changed with Evans out. Kittle said afterwards Commanders D started blitzing a lot more (little odd, that's literally our only trick), and ruining a lot of their hot reads. Brandin Cooks only been there like 2 weeks, I can't even name another healthy WR on the Niners so expecting them to be able to make changes on the fly over a single quarter not great.
