It's every other shot too. I feel like I am usually pretty well-informed before I go into a movie.

This was a complete rug pull. Especially considering Boyle is a senior veteran of the film industry. Unless 2nd and 3rd act gets better with the cuts and edits.

Yeah I know FOH gave this mostly terrible reviews but some of you need to re-examine your tolerance for slop. Boyle really fell off.
I think he tried to film it like the first one with that weird grainy style, quick cuts, and then he decided for some dumb reason to splice in clips of older films. Second act becomes more of a regular movie, and the third act is where it actually gets decent, but if you can slog it out I think you'll still like the second movie.

The man makes decent movies or had in the past, I just think it's been too long since he sat in the directors chair.

One thing that bugged me is just the stupid music choices where the first movie had such a good score. That's all fixed in the second film.

I really wonder if somebody looked at the final version of the first film and told him you're not allowed to direct the second movie because of his weird creative decisions.

I get it. It's hard to live up to the first movie. I still enjoyed these new two entries into the series. Solid 7/10 for both imo.

huh so good to hear maybe its better than 28 Years Later. I just finished that last night and thought it was boring as hell. First 45 minutes was pretty decent and there were some cool kill moments but for the most part it felt like an unfinished movie, I still can't believe so many regular critics and stuff gave it very high reviews.

i do wonder if there is a big audience mismatch between critics/hollywood and audiences in 28 Years Later, and if most people are like me and don't like the movie that much why the fuck would they care about a sequel

That's a fair question. I think the Bone Temple is legitimately good, but as pointed out before, it's not really going to make sense without watching 28 Years Later part 1, which was not good. Having seen both, I don't regret watching part 1, but I could absolutely understand why some people will say part 2 isn't good enough to justify watching part 1.

I would recommend watching Bone Temple to anyone that likes zombie movies, period, nearly without seeing part 1. I do think watching the first provides needed context and may be a hate watch. Part 1 definitely didn't come out of the gates very strong and turned some folks off, but Bone Temple really did a good job in my opinion, your mileage may vary.

I enjoyed this movie, much better than the first and combined together it does have a decent story arch.
