All of 1 and some of 2? Can't remember exactly how much in to book 2, but there are parts.
*edit: Actually, most of the side storylines are direct from Book 3. All of the buying a star, the dream about being in a boat in the fog, Project Staircase, and a few others, etc. They don't happen with the same interconnectedness that they do in the show, so show takes liberties to make the friend group seem way more impactful, while in the book these things were taking place just to other individuals.
