The main story isn't even really about him. It's the events that unfold around him. That said he ends up being one of the most storied knights in Westeros, but...it's one of those endings.

"And having no further concern, he and his companions sought adventure in the West. Many wars and feuds did Conan fight. Honor and fear were heaped upon his name. In time, he became a king by his own hand... And this story shall also be told".

He is one step above a peasant who is finally in a position to make decisions on his own. His former master or whatever would have done all of the talking, particularly to anyone with power or in a House, so this is him finding his footing. Now however you know all about his internal character and personality. He believes in the code and doing good down tot he core. Him not fighting is a story beat in itself. Dude is significantly larger then anyone else, and has martial training so it will generate expectations even in people who dont know the story since his name was brought up in the mainline series as the best Kingsguard ever. He could just stomp the competition if they let him or maybe not who knows.

The best thing I can suggest is not spoiling yourself, and not watch the new trailer they put out today (spoils the whole show). Enjoy the small scale and relatively low stakes. They put love into it.

Thanks, that is how I took it... I do not remember him/name from GoT - I just know many here referred to Dunk and Egg stuff, and that this is what that is. Also not that he is potato 'taded, but also perhaps a simple man with true honor doing the best he can - it is just very different than the entire cast of characters from GoT, even Sam, Jon, Gendry and other "not necessarily high born" and how they acted - and it is not really a bad thing.

And GoT was a long time ago...I do not remember many of the story small details (maybe because of how little in the end it all mattered....)

Got HBO Max "free" with my verizon as it was part of another streaming service bundle for 10$ - we were paying 15$ for whatever the other one was alone, so it +HBO and save 5$ - also how verizon "pays for" the services works WAY better than a few years ago.

The episode 2 preview was better than the whole episode 1. Ser Lyonel is setting off some serious gaydar.

Only negative for me was seeing Ryan Condal's name in the credits.

Suspicious of a little bit of woke coming with gaydar and man-ass and no tits-- but GRRM has never trashed this show like he trashed House of the Dragon, so I'll give it a chance.

The scene is odd... like...it is very random... I am sure there is "creative" view that it is a raw take on showing how he has to live out in the world as a hedge knight and its nasty and hard.

But, it is right after he kind of does a whole "I am on my own, time to step up and be what my master wanted me to be...what I want to be..." and they play the "GoT Heroic Theme" music, prepping a cut to Title sequence...but then just hard cut the music and straight to him shitting with man ass an cgi poop (maybe real heh)

So that is... trying to... show us that this is not to be taken as seriously as the mainline GoT show/books? or...

Right... and it seemed like just that one instance... him bathing was no real "gross out" just "culturally acceptable" man nudity, while female nudity is passe or bad or whatever - as by culture, i mean SJW fags... as what they have shown so far, in comparison to GoT s1-3 was, essentially nothing. It was "needed" as it imply that, that knight guy has kinks like getting it on with dead people - I assume that is why his cohort of whores was having one pretend to be dead...

Time will tell... I haven't read the books, nor will I, be this good or bad...so, it is what it is

They actually mentioned the shitting scene in the "making of" thing at the end. They started off by saying "we hope you will forgive us" and then said they were trying to show how low and non-regal he really was despite his gear and dubious title. I guess it does that but it's also super gross.
