I enjoyed this one. It reminded me of the early Game of Thrones when it was more personal and the characters were the main focus before the spectacle (and budget) took the showrunners' focus.

I'm just hoping that don't do what everyone has been doing these days with a good first season and then pulling a 180 in the second.

Just finished this with Mrs. Haus Mrs. Haus , I wholeheartedly agree with the "It had early GoT vibes" with a touch less "Gonna shock value you with shit because we want to subvert some expectation" nonsense. Definite thumbs up, and also a definite hope they don't fuck this up.

Problem being there are only three books of this, so at max three seasons so far. Since I'm also hoping they will be smart enough to only go so far as they have the authors content to directly work from and not "GoT" this bitch up... And with the current state of affairs expect GRRM to ever finish another GoT story seems beyond reasonable hope, and he's said repeatedly he will NOT pull a Robert Jordan and name a successor to continue/finish them posthumously..

They have quite a bit in the pipeline for GoT that I don't think they'll feel the need to drag this one out.

I hope not since the actor playing Egg is a kid who looks to be right at that point where they start growing/maturing quickly from a visual standpoint. Not sure how old Egg is at the end of the current books though... Don't want a "Stranger Things" here when "Child Squire Egg" looks like an angsty mid-20's dude.

He's 12, he's going to change very quickly, but thats kinda okay, we know who he grows into, it's not like he's supposed to stay a child.
