If you are planning to play a korean MMO, going in expecting anything different at this point is dumb. Locking the market behind the sub though, that is some pro level greed and I can see turning a lot off. If they cant even sell or buy shit in f2p game with all the other limits(less dungeon runs, less energy etc).

Rest of that sub stuff seems normal(more dungeon runs, more time on stuff, vendors etc, though remote storage is cool). That remote storage option seems like a good way to not have to buy inventory space too(which I always do because I hate inventory management with a passion). Is sub really locked to server? so you couldnt reoll to friends or else where without paying again?

Granted the example in that video is the extreme "you will never match someone paying 10 to 30 grand", like wtf.

The remote storage isn't just convenience, it's almost mandatory and you will still want as much space as you can get. The game has a ridiculous number of items and sometimes the same type of item is bound or not bound, so they don't stack. There's also all the dumbfuck unecessary scrolls that should just be removed from the game. If you pvp you're gonna want a separate pvp set of gear, and you might also want a set of gear for max flight time, but I think that's mainly for gathering. The only way to farm one particular mat is while flying because the nodes only spawn like 30 feet in the air, and until you get a lot of wings (each one you own has stacking bonuses including flight time) you get like 30 seconds of flight time with a 1:30 recharge time.

Yes, sub is per server. And even if it wasn't, I doubt you'd want to invest the time to level and gear up another character. Oh, and the geniuses recently added a new limitation, on the number of times you can run dungeons without opening the chest at the end, to limit carry's (carries?) There were a lot of changes in the most recent update, but I don't know which will be in the global version at launch.

I wish these studios would stop focusing so much on being control freaks who want to dictate how you play the game and more on figuring out how to eliminate bots.

Another new addition is you can now teleport to each quest objective and then back to the quest giver. So much for "36 times bigger than Aion 1!!" lol

Hmm will see. I can see myself trying it, especially as its f2p and I had fun in the little bit I played in TW. And probably subbing at first( because that remote storage seems way too good). How long I last though, will see. Probably get max level, do some dungeons/pvp and be done, unless its surprises me. In that video I heard some equalized pvp in a random BG queue thing it seems, so can at least do try some pvp there, without going against the guy spending hundreds to thousands in the abyss. Depends what I am doing in 2 months, but dont think anything really on the horizon that would drag me away.

I still play BDO, I just stopped trying to keep up with people that can grind 10 hours a day or swipe. And while the enhancement system in these games can make a person rage like no tomorrow(including me), as long I am not trying to be the top or pvp at the time, I generally just shrug when shit downgrades or blows up. Korean games tend to do combat so well, its fun to just play them even just grinding away with some music on.

All I care about anymore is having fun and if a box price is worth the hours I get out of it. At most I tend to get into games that you rotate into for seasons, new classes or expansions, then pop out again.

Can only hope they change that market locked on sub though. You can add something else, but that shit should be open to everyone, its a good thing for f2p players to keep them involved in the economy and it provides a vast source of materials for everyone to buy. Limiting your market just to sub players, just severely limits the market overall.

Gear doesn't blow up, except for clash runes, which is weird, and annoying. You get so used to just plussing up stuff if you've got the mats, then they give you this rune and 9 upgrade scrolls, and so you click click, boom. The combat is ok, like I said, I like the skill chain and stigma system, but when grinding mobs you don't really need to do anything except hold left click, hold right click, rinse repeat, so that's pretty dull.

People have been bitching about the sub for market thing from the start, I doubt they'll ever change it, they're too stupid for that. They specifically mention it in that announcement Vol posted. I agree, it's fucktarded. Archeage had a similar system that you could use to buy sub tokens for gold, which, while I don't like that you can buy gold, I never had to pay $$ for my sub. But, this game makes you sub first to access the market. It just makes zero sense, because you get the same profit either way!! EXCEPT that the players who will never pay $$ won't be able to access the market, so you're leaving money on the table, in addition to just driving away people who won't even bother to play because of it.

The bots supply the market with mats. It's such a part of the economy that (I think it was mentioned in that vid I posted) people just say don't bother with gathering, buy from the bots, it's more time/cost effective.

As long as PvP and bosses have fun engaging combat, I'm more than happy to just press 1 button for grinding.

I like the occasional dumb MMO, especially in the 'just released frenzy' where noone really knows what's going on for the most part.

Hell I played Blue Protocol in a try hard guild for a while, and threw like 6$ for the cheapo pass and a surfboard at the game. It was fun enough. I loved most of Aion 1 initially, so I will definitely check this out. I'll probably avoid the PvP though. I'm too old and angry to play PvP with invisible people with a lot of CC and Koreans love that.
