First of all, let's not kid ourselves, this game IS standard Asian MMO trash, lol. I'm sure we'll have plenty discussions on that topic as we play.I recently got laid off when the restaurant I was working at went under, so I'll have plenty of time in October as well, as I temporarily suck on the governments teat for a much needed vacation.
Anyone who does something because a streamer says so is a retard. People are going to say the game is trash anyway. Much of that whining is performative these days. If someone plays a bunch of alts just to progress at a certain speed, and they don't find that enjoyable, how the fuck is that my problem?? Streamers are still gonna say "you gotta do this every day, and this every week, and do this, and do that, and use this build, and make sure your monitor is facing east etc etc etc etc etc" They literally make up shit to say just to be able to make more vids. It's nauseating.
The game already has a dozen different grinds in it, what's one more? You're overlooking the fact that the reason "having" to play alts is such a pain (for some) is because the game has too many systems to grind for. That's the real issue.
I used alts to make extra gold in Lost Ark because it was an efficient way for me to progress at the speed I wanted. I never gave two fucks about what anyone else was doing or compared my progression to theirs. When it started to feel more like work than fun I stopped doing it. One of the drawbacks of being a sane adult.
TLDR: This game will be dead in the West by the end of the year, whichever choice they make. I'll put money on this.
Yeah. I read the same thing during the few weeks I played Blue Protocol when it re-released as Star Resonance. People said you HAD to play alts to build up life skills, but with all these asian MMOS, I play to level cap, dick around a bit then move on to a new game, so what's the point wasting dozens of hours on alts you have no interest in playing? You can be 5% behind the try hards and it's fine as long as you play your class
BP was a decent game, I have a soft spot for Anime MMOS that don't feel like a mobile game. I'll play this for a bit then go back to single player games. It's all about the initial rush for me

Meh I plan to do both. That is in november iirc. I really dont expect this to last for more then a month at most. If it does, can do both. Hell if it does, might be doing 4 games total at once. This, BDO still, EQ TLP, and the wow thing. Thankfully I just play casually for the most part and dont try to keep up with the top(though can do end game things in some if you just raid log).

Not in dungeons. They like to give the bosses multi-wave attacks that you have to run to the gaps, or jump over, and if you miss the timing like twice, you're dead. Probably worse in some.

Yeah, I'd be semi casual I'm sure.. I don't do hardcore raiding and shit like I used to back in early WoW days.. I have to many other games and hobbies now, and a wife (+ kids), haha.

If you find a class you like, and enjoy the combat, then you'll have plenty to do as a casual whenever you want to login and play. Like most other MMO's, eventually you'll get to a point where power progression is locked behind doing increasingly difficult dungeons with more and more mechanics. At that point you'll probably put the game aside until new regions are launched. It could take awhile to reach that point though.

West coast server this morning had a bunch of chinese farmers talking in chinese about scripts, bot farms, etc. But there is an auto--translate feature so you could read them. And apparently they can't translate our stuff. They were on the west coast server because the lag is less than the east coast server and a bunch of them had just been banned from their provincial server or something. Was pretty funny.

There was a full on fucking WAR on the Asia (Japan) server when it came up. Between the Chinese, the Taiwanese and the Japanese. TW has it's own server, but a few must have shown up to check it out. The CCP and Anti-Taiwanese propaganda that got spewed was some next level shit. The Chinese seemed to be getting off on the fact that they could say whatever they wanted without big brother slapping them. Constant spamming and slurs for a good two hours before they just vanished. The Chinese got stuck right into the Japanese as their top priority, and listening to one set of Asians accusing the other set of Asians of random shit is nothing I've not seen before (I play BDO on the SEA server), but it was the scale of it that blew my mind.
There were thousands of players on the Asia server, it was wall to wall, it didn't really start to thin out until I hit around 30.

Messed around with a Spiritmaster and Ranger during todays test, and the efficiency of their respective macro's was pretty noticeable, not sure if that has to do with different animation times. On the SM trying to "weave" the basic attack into the macro I setup would sometimes work, and sometime not, while on the Ranger it worked perfectly. I set them both up with the Macro on my RMB and still have Basic on LMB. The Macro also has a rule where you can't mix standard skills with triggered skills, they have to be in their Chains. Now, if they would have a setting that you could enable to double tap a direction key to dodge, I'd be very happy.
