I mean, she stole it because they wouldn't give her a gun. It's probably badass by twelve year old standards ;p
She took it and walked into the fancy drop ship, nobody notices a sword on her back. Ffs
The following is out of order because I'm drunk.

Now to the xeno, I noticed the trailer getting tipped over not from "mega xeno power" during the scene. Strange as to why but whatever.. I didn't get it at the time.
Hook through to tongue and xeno being lead around like a bull shit me a bit. Power up/power down for story, I let it go. There was a scene where it looked like the alien was running in its elbows, before the hook tongue but I think. That shit me too.

Sword through the roof and massive hole from acid blood, more than I'd expect.
Head sliced off at the front and little damage to the floor. Nope there should be big arse hole.

Did I love it anyway?

Fuck yeah!!!!!!!

Can we forget about the other movies after 1 and 2?

Yes we can.

Stop with the music at the end please. Totally runes it.

I love it. I think they were tying "Wherever I may roam" into Morrow's story as a homeless vagabond.

One really off-putting thing is how these synthetics are supposedly indestructible and super strong when Bishop was kind of a pussy outside of moving his hands faster than people. He was never shown to be able to take down genestealers in melee. So why would these prototypes be so magical? Did they run out of vibranium or something when he was built?

did they say they were indestructible? cuz she got head trauma'd and needed a serious reboot from that fight

otherwise she just has fast reflexes, just like bishop and can run w/o getting tired, just like how bishop can worm crawl for 20minutes, i meanwise theyre pretty soft, like how ash got pwn'd by a fire extinquisher after he titty grabbed that black guy

Because the people behind this didn't watch Alien or Aliens.

She killed the perfect killing machine with a paper cutter, suffering barely a scratch. She jumped off a 500' cliff like Superman. That's some serious structural integrity.

she suffered head trauma, started bleeding white and they had to shut her down to stabilize her

she jumped off a cliff onto a sandy beach, when the most important person in her life, her brother was attacked and the xenomorph took him and jumped down, the indian bot asked if they should jump and she told the indian to stay there and she ran around and around rather than jump after her brother.

These are not Weyland-Yutani synths anyways and they were called billion dollar units. Ones like Bishop were a dime a dozen and mass produced and I doubt nearly as well built.

Yes it lets the writers do whatever they want, and yea you can call it dumb that Wendy can drop a large distance off a cliff, but my impression is that Boy Kavalier is creating these to eventually transfer himself into one and probably other extremely wealthy individuals so why not give them the strength to kill that Alien or the speed to haul ass down a beach or whatever. If you are going to "live" (thats the argument if the AI is really you or not that the show is exploring) forever you may as well be a god compared to regular humans as well since if you get get injured some 1st year med student on a colony planet wont be able to do shit for you.

Aliens have always had super strength compared to a human. In Aliens you can see them bashing bulkheads in, or forcing open the armored carrier's door. The runner in Alien 3 is able to crush a man's head with its hands, and could propel itself out of what looked like tonnes of molten lead several meters up.

The design of the one we have seen so far in Alien Earth looks like one of the xenomorph warriors in Aliens (in Aliens we mostly see warriors, and just a couple of drones near the queen at the end).

The show is running with the idea that the aliens have a sort of collective hivemind / telepathic link of sorts, it looks like the eggs (or the facehuggers inside them at least, but we also know from the lore that the eggs themselves are living organisms) are communicating and alerting the xenomorph to the presence of intruders, probably because they were in the process of being moved to strategic locations to ambush more hosts and create more xenomorpphs. Then there is another loud telepathic call at the end of the episode when one of the facehuggers is getting vivisected.

As I recall, the telepathic link was created by a queen in the comics/books, so there might be a queen somewhere... didn't we see two bodies with bursted chests in the cryopods in the Weyland-Yutani ship? If so, there's still another xenomorph at large, and it could be a queen we haven't seen yet.

I hope the show reintroduces one of the elements only visible in the "assembly cut" of Alien 3, the royal facehugger. It looks like a larger, more badass facehugger with darker skin, like the poison headcrabs in Half-Life 2 (man fuck those things), webbing, and a sharp stinger on its tail, and is capable of impregnating two hosts, one with a queen embryo and one with a guardian for the queen (the runner in Alien 3, implanted into an ox or a dog depending on the version you watched).

Here's a picture from the creatures workshop of Alien 3, but you can also see actual footage of it in the assembly cut :

Didn't know this was a thing, I'll need to track down the Assembly Cut. Know what DVD set includes it? "Alien Quadrilogy" says it has extra versions of the movies, so maybe that one?

Alien Quadrilogy DVD set is what I have and yes it should have the Alien 3 Assembly Cut DVD.

It also has the Aliens edition with deleted scenes which is just awesome, the movie is odd to watch now with the theatrical cut.

Nice, I'm tracking it down now. I'll check out that Aliens version too.

Anything worth revisiting Alien 1 for?

Alien has a few deleted scenes, yes. There's one notably that would explain where the eggs come from, but without a queen. It's debatable to this day whether both ways to get eggs are canon, after all the xenomorphs are extremely adaptable by nature, so it's possible they have ways to reproduce in various situations.

Ridley Scott has been very vocal about how much he hates the whole hive/queen thing they did with Aliens (though in my opinion this is a big part of what made the franchise so iconic).

One of the deleted scenes in Aliens would also follow up on that, and recently Alien Earth also implied that Joe/Hermit was being prepared to become an egg (ovomorph in xenomorph lore) so it could still be canon, maybe.

Of the four Quadrilogy movies, Alien Resurrection is the one with the least interesting "director's cut" in my opinion, and it doesn't really add any meaningful deleted scenes.

Tried the 1st 3 episodes of this, could not get into it. Seemed like too slow or stupid or something.

I like this show so far.

Some of the complaints are pretty spergy, and I'm glad we're back to complaining about dumb shit instead of hamfisted non binary lessons and grandstanding white man bad tropes.

So Morrows first name is supposed to mean something. Kume I think he said. Not sure what offhand. Translation means "You may as well kill me". Guess he is going to be a problem.

I had been buying every single version of aliens to come out, because I remembered seeing a scene when it aired on TV when I was a kid that didn't appear in any other versions. Family thought I was crazy. It was the autogun scene that finally appeared again in quadrilogy. I was extremely vindicated.

It’s in the new 4k remaster as well released last April.
