Wait... Haven't been following this since I just assumed it was god awful trash and figured it was better to just ignore. But wasn't this originally Earth prior to the AvP movies and earlier and some rumor that it would tie into all that stuff? That trailer looks very future Earth with the intergalactic ship and the technology they show. Maybe I'm getting it confused with another Alien announcement?

I've given up hoping for good continuity and aimed for cool visuals.. and whether not this gets any sort of continuity right; idk.. but seeing the m4 pulse rifle and m56 smart gun; makes me incredibly happy. Even what looks like a vector / pulse smg.

Ehhhhh...I don't know. It looks alright, and I'll probably watch it, still not hopeful it won't be a retarded turd. Prometheus looked amazing and last stupid movie looked good, but both were really bad.
Guess I'm just more curious as to how the hell they're going to weave this into the overall universe without it being just asinine. My guess would be that Weyland Utani knew about the stuff prior to the first film, hence the reason they sent the Nostromo to LV-426 to get more specimens? But if there's an alien on earth now where there hell did it come from, another planet? Is this going to tie in with Prometheus and Covenant somehow?
I just have a feeling it's going to be a discombobulated mess. I'll go in with a low expectations, and hopefully be pleasantly surprised, but probably not. After all Ridley Scott's involved, and he should just God damn retire at this point.

I mean you don't hire the guy who created Legion to create a normal zoomer Alien IP show. Cause what you didn't see was that goat being transferred to a synth and start rapping, while the alien sneaks in via a slient film vignette. Thats about what I expect from Noah Hawley.

The last 3 films in the franchise have been shit. Yes they might look magnificent and have some nostalgic callbacks, but they're horrible movies compared to the originals, and I'll even lump in the fourth one which is still better than the new ones, and that's saying something.
Fourth one is still pretty bad though.
I'm not even including the AVP movies, just strictly aliens. Prometheus, Covenant, and Romulus were all forgettable films other than maybe a moment or two, like the giant donut rolling over the actress that has a trans kid, and Guy Pearce wearing an old man mask.
Can't forget about the second one though where David plays his brother's flute and fingers it for him.
Then you have black Andy using a pulse rifle and telling an alien leave her alone you bitch.
This is why I don't have much hope for the series, but I'll watch it because like some of you guys love Star wars, this is always been my jam between the movies and comics since I was a kid, and I really hope to be pleasantly surprised but I'm going in with low expectations, and I mean the lowest.

Not saying it won't be shit but Noah is a great writer. This forum has shit on this series from the get go. it might be crap but he is a very unique writer/ect. If you know the few stuff he's worked on he is not your typical writer
His main works was Fargo and he did the Coen brothers well and did Legion which is a different take on the marvel stuff. The guy knows how to tell a story
