This is still going to be a shit sandwich.

Yeah, the bread might look toasted and buttery, maybe you see a few crispy pieces of bacon poking out, some slices of tomato, topped by cool iceberg, but inside....

Think I'm making BLTs for dinner.

Something like this? Not a BLT... But just got some sourdough so not a bad idea.

It's Noah Hawley, you're generally going to get a really good first season (that may take a bit for the plot threads to connect), followed by uneven later seasons.

As always, prequels where the threat was known to some all along, are tough to align with the original works, but Hawley's given himself an out by including multiple threats that outbreaks can be misattributed to. Also between reprogrammable synths and the mind control aliens, you've got a lot of options for human-on-human violence that can overshadow / obfuscate the Alien-caused deaths.

This is going to be the best Alien property since Aliens. Take it to the bank!

That's not saying much 😔

The new one, Romulus? I couldn't make it through half way, no clue how that movie got so much praise

For me, season 2 of Fargo was his best work, but I understand your point and won't argue it if you liked season 1 more. He was at his most creative during season 3 of Legion but that was my jam and I love weird weird weird shit, so I got why people generally were like ??? lol.

I have low standards for Xenomorph fun.
Except that movie wasn't fun, it was a slog. I don't even remember what the hell happened. I'd rather go watch Alien Resurrection than that piece of garbage, and that's saying a lot.

I hope the new series is good, but I'm definitely going in with the lowest of low expectations. How many times have we all been hoodwinked on a film or TV show that looks slick, like Prometheus, only to find out it's total shit.

I'm also not too keen on the diversity Lost boys Android team, and of course Timothy Oliphant is going to be the evil white male Android by the end of the season. He'll probably betray Mark Zuckerberg character and have his own ulterior motives for make an aliens and whatever.

Romulus was added to the post by him after. I am ambivalent about Romulus , which is pretty damning for someone like me.

just watched the trailer for the first time, so this isn't modern-era earth then? Still like 40-100 years in the future? Thats cool i guess, i thought it woulda been goofy to put aliens into 2025 Earth. I guess Alien 1979 takes place in 2122 so a lot of wiggle room.

might be one of those shows thats better binged once the full season drops since i expect cliffhangers and mini arcs that go nowhere aka human drama. We're all just here for the monsters.

Dr.Retarded Dr.Retarded , look, a new trailer for you to throw some culinary shade on ;)

friends jerks GIF

Like I said it looks slick and amazing, but I don't trust modern day Hollywood to not turn out a turd. I will watch it going in with the lowest expectations, because if I don't watch it how can I not talk about how crappy it will probably be.

Hey if I'm completely and utterly wrong, I'll freely admit it, but fool me a few hundred times...
