Planet shake n bake colonies were a regular thing and infestation was due to Burke giving the push finally only after gaining the knowledge from ripley’s stories

None of that can be retrofitted to be “oh it was a master plan all along we always knew about the aliens and that Burke guy just happened to accelerate things before we were ready”
You got to remember that's like 60 or 70 years afterwards according to the timeline. That's why this whole stupid show is just so goofy because it's a weird prequel bullshit.

Well apparently she's at the stupid Neverland base, so I'm sure we're going to get more of her. I mean why wouldn't you bring your crack team of corporate commandos with you!

As far as im concerned everyone at Neverland is dead.

Like deader then dead

They were brought there because they saw the organisms on the Maginot, thus they cant be captured by Morrow or Weyland-Yutani there. Without that info Prodigy can just go, no idea what happened to your stuff I guess it blew up in the crash when the issue goes to court or whatever tribunal system they have when any of the 5 sue the other.

The Nostromo leaves Earth just after this season is done or during it (im guessing it will be a post credits tease on the last episode). Noone on it would have any idea of what is happening on the other side of the planet. Last episode mentioned Wendy's brother was in a war on the other side of the planet with a rival corp, these are not allies or friends, information flow wouldn't be free.

The events in Aliens take place over 50 years later. Most of those people in that debrief room were either not alive when Ripley blew up the Nostromo or were just kids. They wouldn't have any special information unless it was recorded somewhere and it obviously wasn't or delted. They never explained it back in the 80's either why there was no record of the distress signal, but the life pod confirmed it for them. As far as we know they got those eggs from the show on LV-426 and the Nostromo's "mission" was a cover to get the organism back to Earth without transporting eggs because of some quarantine that maybe was setup after this clusterfuck going on in this show. Ripley even mentions that as a plan by Burke in the sequel confirming quarantine is required.

It could be just as simple as Yutani wanted to hide the losses of two very expensive spacecraft due to her obsession of bio weapons, and after it happen in Alien she just had all the information deleted. Maybe just the high ups knew and had MU-TH-UR fill Ash in on route while the rest of the crew slept. My guess is we are going to get a lot of plot about the motivations behind the Nostromo's mission from this show.

Who the hell knows, we've only got four more episodes to slog through I think, but the whole continuity and timeline and everything is just completely out of wack, and I'm to the point where....

I think the Tripanohyncha "Eye Monster" Ocellus is quickly stealing the title of main threat / monster of the season, and I really don't mind. I love xenomorphs but as was said here you can't really envision a huge spread of them on Earth because the planet still exists nearly 60 years later and only becomes an unlivable wasteland some time before Alien Resurrection 200 years after that, but they can have some stuff happen with some of the other alien monsters that could be fun.

Didn't know this was a prequel. That does sour me on the lore a bit.

Oh well I'm still having fun. The eye monster is definitely the coolest thing and I hope the lore on that gets expanded (it won't).

The 5th are the winged flies. They have been shown just not in action I believe.

Man after that I would have been super interested in a standalone Alien film by him that was straight slasher

I like this series but what pisses me off is they make everyone but a few seem like they're adolescent and retarded (aside from the kids who had themselves jacked into adult bodies). The ship's crew in tonight's episode is a good example.

I think they said they are only counting Alien and Aliens. I know for sure the prequels are out.

Jesus Christ that might have been the best episode of TV I've seen. I'd put that on par with anything.

The 70s style sets, the suspense. Man that was a nice ride. I was wondering why they didn't open with that part of the story but I guess he wanted a nice mid season jolt. And he delivered.

As to the stupid crew these aren't astronauts. The black lady is just a nurse? Go to any hospital around a nurse station. Nursing school isn't rocket science. And the kid is just an apprentice mechanic. Not an engineer. The ship's engineer seemed pretty intelligent.

The crew is a bunch of not-career professionals from 65 years prior. Frankly, if they took the saboteur and the dumb nurse out of the equation maybe they would have survived.

But this episode will become a poster for why you don't bring food/water into labs.

To be fair, the Alien franchise has always treated corporate / independent ships like fishing vessels - low capital cost (especially after depreciation) things their insurance assumes they'll lose X of every year, and staffed to match.

In reality, any actual interstellar ship would be a preposterously large capital cost, just given the physics involved of an unintended landing (as the show demonstrates), equivalent to a military ship, with at least their chiefs having a documented record of competence - there's a reason a US Navy Captain is equivalent to an Army Colonel, who usually have 4k+ troops rolling up to them.

It's just another side effect of the 70s budget of the original, which the franchise needs to move past eventually.

I would argue we're getting closer and closer to "low cap fishing vessel" type space already. Bezos sent Katy Perry and his wife up and it doesn't get much more adolescent and retarded than that. With a mostly proven AI "mother" running things and at least one synth/cyborg to provide local problem solving/fixing there's little reason to think interstellar trips would be significantly different than roughnecks working in remote oil fields. For All Mankind reach a similar conclusion after they built out mars and the majority of the "astronauts" were blue collar miners.

I really gotta push my nerd glasses up and interject. Bezos has sent nobody close to space. Sending people 100 miles straight up in a capsule is a universe of difference between putting someone in orbit.

Seeing a human jumping on a xenomorph's back and trying to bite its throat out wasn't on my bingo card, Eye Monster once again for the win this week!
