That can be explained by Boy Kavallier's backstory, mostly from the last episode.

We know he felt way more intelligent than everyone around him from a very young age, we know he felt he wasn't taken seriously as a child and was resentful about the limitations put on him for his child status, hence his creating Atom and using a covert synth as a front for his own Prodigy company until he was the right age to take over. We know he has severe ADHD and nothing seems able to keep his focus for long, and we know he is obsessed with finding someone to have an interesting conversation with.

With all that, it makes sense why he'd want to build synths with the minds of "special children" (at least Wendy is described that way), and put absolutely no restrictions in place because he would feel he's just repeating the pattern that was put onto him as a child. He may even have selected children with trauma (Nibs) specifically because he was also abused as a child (drunk father).

That part, at least, made sense to me.

In so many cases people have to go trought hoops and loops to make sense of various scenes that were forced for no reason ( security guards plans to go for the armory, ends up somehow in the most dangerous place on the island, the lab / Dame going for the graves of the kids while the island is sinking in chaos, etc etc). Working so hard to justify characters decisions when in the end, its just terrible writing. its like all the episode we’re conceived separately with no one watching the overall logic and structure of the story, just to make sure that hey, does that scene makes fuckin sense? And in many casea the answer is just no.

I hope eyeball finds a nice body and retires at a good resort, enjoying pickleball and afternoon drinks.

Man I thought this was a miniseries not a fucking series. Big disappointment there, hoping it'd be all wrapped up somehow in the last 47 minutes did seem a bit optimistic though.

Arthur/Morrow/Smee/Hirsch were good characters and portrayed well. The other kids outside of Smee and maybe Isaac were kind of, whatever. Wendy was too big in her boots way too fast and the others didn't replicate many of the mannerisms of little kids just the ideology of them. Smee actually nailed that shit with his swinging his arms and leaning his head on people. Morrow was just a man on a mission and played it perfectly. Often made you wonder how much of him actually was machine at some points. Arthur had a good mix of compassion for the kids like a father while also being a scientist. The scenes with Smee and Slightly after the facehugger leaves was really good acting. Very compassionate and parental. Hirsch was good because he was cold, calculating, and pragmatic. Everyone always likes those types.

The show would've been way better with the companies battling it out, which may be what season 2 becomes, but the alien stuff outside of lab shenanigans and High-EyeQ stuff was mostly shit. The xenomorphs out in the wild looked dumb and really work best as jumpscare type creature. I didn't mind the different color of their head like they're adapting to their enviroment which is what xenomorphs do. Adapt to their hosts and their environment so that's at least semi creative.

I'm guessing season 2 is the proliferation of Xeno's on the island until it's nuked. Wendy the Wymqueen commanding them all to slay all the bad adults while the kids either grow consciences or lose them. Eyeball Arthur planning an invasion of Earth. Could be good stuff, we'll see.

Didn't hate it, but definitely got worse as the series progressed.

Even the worst episodes were better than 90 percent of the bullshit on TV. Especially retarded assed peacemaker.

I did like the plant thing that sucked up the lady at the end, seemed like a total ripoff of a Half Life 2 barnacle.

"Mary Sue and Supergig 5G WiFi plot device" would've been a better name for this series.

This show would've been 10x better without Wendy, boy and the alien. Hell they could've kept big red still for the hilarious death.

Haven't seen a finale that bad in a while. I literally turned it off half way on premiere and just finished it last night.
