kinda interested in this, but given I haven't played more than 30 min of anno 1800, I'm guessing I should wait until it's on sale to pick it up and not play it either.
It'll be on Uplay or w/e most likely. 1800 takes an evening to get invested in, but once you are - its a great game.

I think it's gone until release. It was also kinda outdated compared to the build the streamers had early access to.

I think i have 2 anno games and I'd be surprised if I have more than 2 hours in them. I dont know why these games never grabbed me, but it's exactly the type of game I like. I never really figured out how to play well.

I love these, but I get to a point with them where I'm just overwhelmed and can't balance my peons vs my workers vs my engineers vs my geniuses (or whatever the different tranches are) and get in this flapping failure cycle and then my gaming ADD takes me elsewhere.

So naturally since I had some extra cash when it was announced, I've preordered this one.

I feel the same way. I had totally missed these games. Anno 1800 is my first one and I love it, a whole day just flies by and I feel like a cripple when I try to stand up after a session.

But as I mentioned earlier, Anno 1800 had so much content it's overwhelming for me. Disabling some DLCs would probably be smart.

That's why I am so hyped for 117, to start fresh with everyone.

Everyone is different but i find these games more tractable when i just focus on one thing at a time and don't worry too much about the big picture. For 117 that might mean spending a few nights on aqueducts or slavery or bath houses or something and not worry that the gauls are taking my northern front.

i eagerly await seeing how the romans can make friends with various ncps.

Im pretty psyched about it, tbh. I thought it was further off than this. I spent god knows how many hours playing the Caesar series as a kid. This shit is right up my alley.

Demo was great and there is a good amount of freedom from the jump, put a ton of hours into the last Anno in a setting I like about 5% as much as I like Rome. Good week of game releases, too little time to play them.

Yea, only the pre-load is up now. 100gb or so.

But it was worded wierd on consoles.

Wonder how it will play with controllers, they have a console UI after all for PS5 etc.

Hyped as hell and my back is slowly healing for me to no-life it!

Why does this have to release within a few days of EU5? I still remember spending hours working to get the large bath houses and other high end buildings to become available in the original Caesar game (holy shit, did that really come out 33 years ago?).

SimCity + ancient Rome = crack.

Yep. I think Caesar II - Wikipedia was my first city builder game.

I'm looking forward to the game too but the writing in this vid sounds like bro just prompted ChatGPT with "Glaze this game so hard to scoop the attention of all the desperate plebs who can't play the game yet."
