Or just make the other final nodes worth it too. Some of them are pretty bad iirc, considering the investment.

That's a big issue right now because the only way to respec is through a painstakingly long expedition.

Need a respec loot drop or something if they are going to start nerfing top tier abilities or the surrounding reason why you got them.

Beaten - they are quick over at Embark:

In the notes earlier today, we missed the Security Locker drop rate changes. We understand that this change affects those of you who specifically aimed for that skill tree spec. We’re exploring the possibility of adding a skill reset mechanic. Balancing is important for us and both overperforming and underperforming skills will be adjusted over time.

Kind of impressed really. They are on the ball and know their shit. Understanding what needs to be balanced but then with that comes a need to be able to respec.

security breach eclipses all other major nodes and its not even remotely close, they have to adjust it lol

It’s a little of both. Security Breach was strong, but this was compounded by the fact all the other end tree talents are complete ass

Kinda neat didn't realize you can bandage downed non party members to let them crawl away much further.

Kinda sucks yellow top sucked so I started down red to get in game craft so I could make fire trap, maybe eventually get locker but now both of those nerfed.

I get locking it do people will do the expedition but does need some kind of very limited reset or expensive option

There is some streamer out there right now that downs someone, keeps them alive this way, plays game show music and asks them 3 trivia questions about ARC raiders and if they get all three right he gives them an epic item and revives them :p

When something takes like 30 hours of gameplay to unlock without cheesy bullshit and you nerf it without warning... A reset option is called for.

I feel like the writing was on the wall for this one specifically. Don't disagree some form of respec'ing should be available.. but while I haven't put in many hours today post nerf; I don't know if it's still not strong.. just not as strong. I finished the Expedition Project(5??) that is monetary for Combat in less than 5 mins because of the amount of Tempest, Bobcats, Volcanos, and Bettina's just sitting in my inventory. I went straight into survival, not even knowing about the talent really.. and ended up almost exclusively doing freeload out runs, b-lining to 1-4 different security containers and just PvP'ing for loot.

I'm not particularly going to get rid of the talent either; I still think it's one of the best ways to get blueprints, outside of trials which reset weekly.

What i'm surprised by is the Venator didn't get nerfed this go around, but i'm pretty sure it's coming. It's the only gun i'm willing to run away off of someone corpse and repair.

I don't care much about pink guns, got inventory stash of them, same with the pink gun parts and wolf nades. I just want blueprints at this point. The gun I use to farm exp can buy from vendor once a day, so that's not an issue. And since I solo 99% of the time, I rarely pvp.

I have a sneaking suspicion that in their minds there are 'pvp guns' and 'pve guns' and they are not only balancing them with regards to pvp ttk, etc etc, but also trying to have a separation of what people use for pvp and what people use for pve. Most people seem to think the purple guns are crap for pvp compared to the basic Anvil/Venator and a short range gun combo. So I wouldn't be surprised if they do a weapon balance pass, but I do not know how it will look when they are done and I don't know how balanced it will be. Hopefully they avoid the Helldivers method of 'Oh, people like it? Nerf it."

Secondly on the community project note: I like the idea of community projects. I think they could be really cool. I am just very disappointed in the first step they have chosen for Arc Raider's map unlock. Currently it does not inspire or push players to get on the map. Best way to get this first stage done is to log in, collect from Scrappy, donate and log out. The numbers to max out contribution points are so low as to be trivial. Why not instead do something that gets people out on the map playing? For instance, a way needs to be cleared security wise and there is a gamewise number of ARCs that need to be destroyed. Just have anyone that logs in and participates get the rewards. This gets people out on the map playing but also keeps the same low level of commitment and gives everyone that's active rewards. If you want it to be more cutthroat, require higher tier items that people want to farm for, like ARC metal. That would make it far bloodier and far more pvp as people fight over drops.

There are a number of things they could do that would get 'more people playing' out on the map. And hopefully the later stages of this project lean more into this. But... the first step feels wholly uninspired and kinda phoned in lazy.

Well they hit those lockers pretty damn. Maybe I had horrible rng too, but opened about 20. Only pink I got was 2 complex parts(which were super common before, I have too many). Only good drops I got was 2 venators. 2 other renegades. More green guns then normal and even a couple basic ones(like ferro I or sticher I). No wolf nades at all , which were common enough before. Zero blueprints, not even a benitta. Basically it feels like opening any gun case that are scattered around, but you can do that at level 1.

Hits my drive to log in pretty hard(I was almost done anyway), as that was my nice log in for an hour or 2, farm solo. Even if they were getting more competitive lately. I think its a balance true(it was too good before) but hit too hard imo, should be better than random weapon case considering the point investment. Also I think its more them pushing people towards the content they want players doing, which is fighting around the major Points of interests, locked rooms and events, which drives more pvp.

Stella Montis is a vertically structured murder dungeon with nasty ARC (mainly the new shredders) around nearly every corner. It's very well done.

Played with Mao Mao and Sludig Sludig last night. Mao knows his shit! Going to have to upgrade his 386 one of these days but other than that good times and a ton of help. Knocked out a whole shitload of rocketeers, bastions, and leapers. Knows maps inside and out.

Went into Stella Montis. Oddly, my spawn put me right on top of 2 other people, which is concerning. Fortunately it was solos and people were more interested in helping each other out and exploring than shooting each other so I survived spawning in.

The new map is, as said above, an underground tight dungeon with shredders that are tough and very deadly, but so far I haven't found any new loot that I couldn't find on any other map. So, the compelling reason to go atm is just 'something new' combined with new quests.

At least the current 'Community Event' gets people out on the map. This one is basically 'Do stuff' on the map, any map if I read it right. So thats an improvement over touch Scrappy, hit donate.

Security Lockers have been nerfed into the ground. I rarely get a weapon, even a green one. I do often get one complex gun part. So not entirely worthless I guess, but it really feels like an overcorrection when you consider its the end of a talent chain. I guess it is balance though, cause now all the capstone talents seem equally worthless :)

EDIT: Wolfpack grenades seem really glitchy atm in Stella Montis map. Tossing them on, beside, above etc and I am not getting them to track most ARCs. Could just be me, but I'm normally not this bad with them.
