Play with UT or I, may still have some goodies you need early. And I wouldn't mind another mule to hold 2 more Blueprints for me, trade off is I can then make you a few later to pay off the favor.

Am ShmecklesPapa in Arc.

Grinder yesterday and a bit this morning. 5.2 million. 14 BP’s with Gator Gator thanks bud. We all owe you :) Then got a Wolfpack BP this morning and that’s held by Dextor. Hit the expedition button and all set.

I got 4 mil. They better not do this grind again. So meaningless and arbitrary. The last part of the expedition already had a grind!

Did almost 3 million over the course of this week, if drop rates stay the same everyone should progress quicker and 5 million will be cake over 2 months until next.

Managed to get my buddy to 5M when he started at ~1.7M at the start of the week. I ended up tossing him a bunch of high level weapons via a hatch transfer to get the last 250k or so but otherwise things went pretty smooth just grinding it out.

Go through the tutorial again. And make sure to drop everything before the first breach again. Upgraded my stash twice already. I thought we got all our stations at level 1 but looks like we rebuild those as well.

Picked this up on Saturday, have played a decent amount. Think I'm up to level 10 or so. Definitely having fun, I like the pace of this a lot more than what we had in Warzone's DMZ.

Kinda lost on all this discussion about getting to 5 million. Google says if you have 5 million worth of stuff you get 5 extra skill points when you create a new character. But that raises the question (for me), why do you need another character? Is it so you can have 5 more skill points than others, and therefore be stronger? Or do you do this again with second character and then your next one starts with 10 extra points, ad nauseum?

After a certain point you've 'done everything' in the game. You've pretty much maxed everything out and there really isn't that much left to do. Most extraction shooters handle this by doing character wipes in seasons. After a certain point, all progress is reset and you start over from zero.

Arc Raiders is taking a slightly different approach. You complete the 'Expedition project' and then save up 5mil worth of money and assets and during certain windows they open up the option to send your raider 'on the expedition'. This works as a character reset, setting you back to level zero with just starting gear. No stations, no blueprints etc. Its a way to keep the game 'fresh' so to speak.

To help incentivize the resets, they've offered some temporary and permanent benefits. Doing the first reset (there has only been one so far) gets you a cosmetic outfit, some temporary boosts in XP gain, weapon repair benefits, and what is eyed as the most beneficial one, 5 permanent skill points added to your character. Eventually if you keep doing resets some of the buffs will stack and you'll be able to have enough bonus skill points to unlock the entire skill tree. In theory. (We're still on the first reset, so stuff might change)

So you don't just make a new character, you do the expedition and opt in to the reset. They have made it optional, unlike a number of other extraction shooters in order to allow people who haven't finished the grind the ability to forgo the reset and keep grinding until they are ready.

All in all its not a bad system, but imo what it is really doing is just masking how little content there actually is in game outside of shooting other people. I reset this cycle, mostly cause there was nothing else to do and no reason not to.
