No. When you're naked, you have a safe slot that you can put an item in that you'll keep even if you fail to extract. It's not the only source of safe slot(s), but it's certainly the cheapest.

Full naked is fun, but other than challenge its ultimately pointless except for very specific things (transferring items between players) when you can just do a freebie run, immediately extract and trade your freebie kit for a green augment. There is no reason you should ever be poor to a level that requires naked scavving like I've seen in other extraction shooters, especially when you get to keep all your freebie loadout when you extract.
I /wish/ naked runs had more purpose and you could kill more arcs with the pickaxe. That would be a lot of fun and I used to really enjoy naked knife runs on The Cycle, but they do not hold up to the same level here. Flying enemies and weird hit boxes make pickaxing arcs unrealistic.

So would this game be for me if I really don’t like engaging in PvP? I don’t mind cooperative playing at all, but the twitchy sweaty kill them fast kind of gameplay doesn’t appeal to me anymore. It’s on sale on PSN so I’m debating grabbing it

North America solo queue is usually pretty chill if you get matched with other chill solos. Just don’t attack people first if possible and you’ll eventually get matched more often than not with chill people who are more interested in PvE than PvP

I’m level 3 again on all crafting stations save the stations that need bastion and bombadier parts. Met up with

for my blueprints and have all but one stash unlocked. Amazing how fast it goes when you know where to go. One more 200k stash upgrade and get some bastion and bombadier parts and it’s better than before I expeditioned.

One thing this game really needs is a way to ID people at a distance. The models and cosmetics are bland and shit and make it so everyone looks sorta the same and I have to think that is on purpose.
But, I'm generally peaceful. I see no real reason to shoot people in game cause usually I am there for a purpose. A quest, an item, etc. Shooting people just wastes time and resources from that objective unless shooting people is the goal. So normally I call out to people when I get the drop on them cause it sets them at ease knowing I coulda blown their ass away but didn't. However, some people still say 'don't shoot' etc or act friendly and then shoot me in the back. Fair enough. I don't roll fancy gear most times cause its not needed and no big loss. The problem is though, unless they speak I can not tell what there user name is. I used to be able to do it by hitting escape and checking who is proximate to me in the menu but that seems to have been removed.
There really needs to be a way to ID people, so I can shoot these fuckers in the face when I see them again. There is zero consequence for treachery and its only by good nature that people aren't murdering each other constantly. I think the game would benefit from a system that allows you to ID people who have killed you before. Synduality, a rather poor by personal enjoyment of mine has the scan feature that a quick sighting doesn't reveal name, but if you keep them in your vision long enough it pulls up their ID and loadout etc. Something simple that let you see a person and perhaps ping them to tag them and their ID would be baller.
