They are out to lunch and doing the bare minimum of smoke and mirrors "Content" creation - which isn't content creation at all. They are taking existing patterns in various events, trials, and expeditions and just moving spreadsheets around. On one end of the coin, they were obviously blind-sided by the early success of the game and had ZERO game plan for the future. On the other they have made over $500 million and it's been 6 months since launch without anything but a snails pace of keeping people engaged which has failed about now because reports are 80% of the playerbase left.
From loot, to guns, to even the events all smoke and mirror'd to look different but isn't in the slightest. Hurricane shifted what was cold snap and health decline to shield decline. Loot table was adjusted with the raider caches with the same shit in them we always saw throughout all the maps except a higher drop rate on blueprints. Once again, the same blueprints for the last 6 months.
And they have the balls to call it content.
And now, this is what they consider a change to expeditions which, once again, have the same reward structure but moving a time sink from A to B with nothing different to earn, no new loot to create and use, or hardly any differentiation aside from rarity because then they would have to admit that people who play this game play for at least some sort of carrot related to power = time/effort. As it has stood for 6 months, the appearance of risk concerning a loadout you may bring into topside is the only thing they had and that facade is gone. Who cares if you lose a Tempest? Bring in an Anvil or a Apregio and you will have the same results anyway side from what it may sound like or look like. The veil has been lifted so to speak and underneath that it's just lazy as fuck so they do not have to actually reward players with anything related to effort in the game. The gig is up, and they aren't doing dick all to change it.
