Can you do any overhead pressing or is the ceiling too short?

Lowkey pulled a muscle in my back a few days ago while squatting in 40° F garage gym. Only real downside of having a garage gym is the temperature during winter.

I warmed up with 20 min walking and 3 heavy sets of ham curls, then on second set of bb squats pulled something below my right scapula. I was explaining it to a gym bro and he was like “… nothing you did warmed up your back, idiot.” Which is 100% true lol.

my old bb coach used to say, “Pushing yourself leads to more injuries but is a lot more fun.” Which is both terrible and amazing advice. But this issue wasn’t because I was pushed myself, it was because I didn’t warm up my back while in a freezing garage.

I’m wondering if I should’ve done a few sets of lat pull first, or maybe good mornings or deadlift. My split that day wasn’t too wild: ham curls first, bb a2g squat, trad deadlifts, then finish up with an alternating fourth. Usually lunges, good mornings, SLDL, or something like that.

I picked up ham curls first from John Meadows a few years back because I used to get knee pain when squatting but hitting ham curls first and heavy warms up your knees (and prioritizes lagging hammies), and I never get knee issues from squatting anymore. I used to be quad dominant with lagging hammies but 5+ years of hitting hamstrings first have beefed em up.

Shoulder presses? Yes. I bought that specific rack for the shoulder attachments knowing I have no room above. Those are what the red attachments on the floor are for.

I'm back at it. I have a lifting class, 2 days a week. The class is for beginners and people who know what they are doing. So im doing my deadlifts and squats on my own; the teacher doesn't holding people back. Most days im doing full body work:
squat-> dumbell or bench press-> rows-> leg press or lat pulldown
It's only been a month but its a good time; I dont know how much you guys worry about diet, seems im still struggling with that.

What’re you struggling with diet wise?

If it’s losing weight, walking 10k steps per day and eating a 500 caloric deficit makes dropping 1-2 lbs a week is do-able.

It's just me making bad choices, I dont track constantly to completely know. A example is if im working on a Friday night and im on break I'll grabs some jack in the box, this isn't a everyday thing nor is it me pigging out every chance I get. Im a skinny fat man right now so it shows I wasn't doing much
